One of the coolest hotels we've ever stayed in. The room was lovely and big, the staff were amazing and the breakfast was wonderful (lots of calories though 😄). Surprisingly, the hotel itself (rooms & lounge) was very quiet although the restaurant and bar were always hectic with lots of happy people🍺. Great stay overall!

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

I've always loved Edinburgh, it's got something for everyone and has a great vibe. The addition of the trams since I was last there adds to the travel options. Leith is and always has been a personal favourite, was a good 25 years since I was there and it's changed so much, some of the character has been lost where traditional buildings have been demolished to make way for new flats etc, but still a great area to visit.

Fantastic city, we visited Edinburgh Castle, one of the best attractions I've ever been to. We did a walking tour run by sandemans, which was excellent. Also went to the royal yacht brittania, which was excellent. Ate a variety of meals ( Miller and Carter, oink, prezzo) and went to coffee shops plenty of times. Walked around old town and new town. Got the bus every day, very good service. Got the tram to the dockyard, good too. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It is just amazing city. Very much like a from fairy-tale. We loved it (2 adults, 1 child 8 years). We were there at the festival-time mid to end July (not knowing about this event but it was an amazing surprise and we took advantage of it and visited lots of the events). Since it was also during Tattoo time, the city center has been very crowded, but was not a problem for us. Just expect prices for accommodation to be higher than usual. For us it was worth it. Super friendly people everywhere. Want to come back soon :-) We took the sightseeing bus at the first day - recommendable. And if you have children with you, go to the Camera Obscura, our son had sooo much fun.

Very walkable city with ancient architecture. Loved the Royal Mile and the Edinburgh Castle. Easy to take trams to and from the airport and around the city. Took a tour to Hadrian's Wall over the English border. Could have spent another day or two exploring museums and more of the city.

Edinburgh has lots of good bookshops and also yarn and fabric shops. Most of the museums are free and a useful resource if you need the toilet. The architecture is beautiful and there are stunning views from the castle and hills. Some of the art galleries are free. Excellent bus and tram links in the City.We are keen walkers and enjoyed getting round on foot, there is plenty to see. We found people open and friendly. We particularly recommend Art and Vintage Cafe Lyne Street and RoRo Tea in Canongate.
