Location was fabulous, overlooking the estuary with the rising hills dotted with sheep behind the pool house. As a vegan the breakfast was adequate. The bread wasn't great. Used to sourdough not pre sliced white bread. Tofu scramble would have been nice. The tea was good and there was my preferred plant based milk.

We don't have a car so appreciated being able to get about on public transport. Had days in Exeter, Sidmouth and Topsham and can recommend A La Ronde, a National Trust property just outside Exmouth - an interesting, quirky house in lovely gardens with great views. Plenty of good places to eat - really like Alleria, Ristorante Sapori, Queen Vic and had an excellent roast at The Grove. It is nice to see the effort being made with beautiful floral displays and pillar box toppers (a lot of work demonstrating what the place means to the locals).

Having spent many holidays in Exmouth as a child it was nice to return after a number of years. Not too much has changed, which is no bad thing, and it is still a lovely place to spend a holiday. Having such a wide beach means you can have long walks along the promenade and the Marina is worth a visit too. The Exmouth Museum was new to me and is well worth a visit. The staff were very friendly and informative and, although small, it has a lot of exhibits. It's very easy to take the train to Exeter which has wonderful views of the estuary, and we also drove to St Erth and then took the park and ride to St Ives which is a lovely town and the railway line goes alongside the beautiful coast. Don't miss A La Ronde on the edge of town too. Exmouth has wonderful flower displays all around the town and everything is kept in good condition. Inevitably there are some closed shops but still a lot of choice and many restaurants, pubs and cafes to choose from as well as a cinema. We ate breakfast and some evening meals in the Weatherspoon Powder Monkey which won't be to everyone's taste but you couldn't fault the service, choice and prices. We also went to Prezzo which was very good with excellent service and The Bath House in the sea front. Before coming I wasn't sure if I would want to return in the future but this definitely confirmed it won't be my last!

We always love Exmouth and we had beautiful sunshine so spent a couple of days on the clean sandy beach. There are excellent local buses and we caught the open top bus to Sandy Bay, then took our time walking back along the cliffs enjoying the views. Plenty of choice of restaurants/cafes/ice cream kiosks. We enjoyed the great live music at the Thirsty Turtle along the seafront. Plenty to do if you want things like bowling, cinema etc - we just enjoyed the weather and eating out in the evenings. It was bank holiday weekend so busy with a great summer vibe in the evenings - several bars with live music.

Exmouth is a lovely place. Very clean and dog friendly. It doesn’t get too crowded either which is a bonus. The locals are so friendly and welcoming. We have a lovely Staffordshire bull terrier who is wonderful however some people can be judgmental. Not here! Everyone we met were welcoming and made a fuss of our dog. 🤗

Long sandy beach, albeit around half is accessible to dogs all year round, whilst the other half does prohibit them for the summer. Judging by the beach shops, surfing is a popular pastime, plus fishing boats and trips from the Marina Plenty of pubs, restaurants and a nice town 'square' The Strand and The Parade. Generally Exmouth is quite a quiet town, fairly flat and compact, so walking is easy, especially along the long Esplanade. There is also space for cyclists to share

I think Exmouth needs more to facilitate bad weather days.It was definitely lacking for children's indoor activities. For instance the arcade was extremely non plus! A lot of the machines, not that there were many, did not work.Neither fid the change machines nor ticket prize machines work.....disappointing on that front.Too many charity shops in the town.A few nice ones.Had the weather have been kinder the beach would have been great. We were warned of the polluted sea though...in any case we never got that chance.Nevermind.The house we stayed in was brilliant in Halesdon avenue

My "Go-To" Hotel in Exmouth, the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. We took our dog Flossie and they were brilliant with her, they even left a doggy blanket and new ball to play with (plus a bowl and 💩 bags) in our room. Tea and coffee facilities, toiletries and fluffy towels. Designated parking. Very close to the beach and the lovely town centre. An absolute gem ❤ I definitely would recommend a stay at The Royal Beacon in Exmouth xx

This is probably the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in, but then Exmouth is a very friendly place, too. The staff were wonderful, and I had the best of conversations. The room was fine, if a little small, and it was nice to have a bar to sit at in the evening. The location is excellent, a short walk from the beach and the town. You can walk for miles along the beach and the cliff pathway which I reached from the end of the beach.

We chose this location to be close to our late sister who lived in Exmouth before she died. Breakfast very good . Our rooms weren't together as requested but I no this isn't always possible. Disappointed with standard of our room compared to the other room which was more modern and upto date I'm aware we we in the older side of hotel but rooms which are same price should be of equal standard.
