Cromwell Cottage - Dog Friendly, hotel in Fakenham

Located in Fakenham, 17 km from Houghton Hall and 31 km from Blickling Hall, Cromwell Cottage - Dog Friendly provides accommodation with free WiFi in a historic building.

The cottage was lovely, very quirky and great decor. Beds were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It was very well equiped, perfect for a few days stay. Great location within easy walking distance from town and ideal for us as we were going to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular: only a 15 minute journey by car.

Fakenham is a good location for the coast but the town...

Fakenham is a good location for the coast but the town itself is small with only a few places to eat and drink and a small cinema, but pretty quite. Nice chalk stream with footpath right next to cottage. Nice pub a short walk out of town too, in next hamlet, near a common

    .........We Never went into Fakenham..........

.........We Never went into Fakenham..........We were up there to meet my husband's younger brother - OVER FROM AUSTRALIA! ........We are NOT YOUNG....so, we ate with his Bruv's No.3 child in East Rudham or purchased our own food from the LOVELY VILLAGE SHOP...... or Morrisons....just 3-4 miles down the road. Great Quiet Place. Loads of Swallows nesting in the eves and Swifts (I think)....certainly Wagtails. Friendly dogs, Horses, and Great Owners

It was a good place to use as a base to explore North Norfolk. Kings Lynn, Norwich, Sheringham, Aylsham, Burnham Overy, Burnham, Walsingham all within easy access. Local pubs and shopping facilities are fine, but nothing to write home about.

    Great for the coast.

Great for the coast. Morrisons, Tesco, lidl easily accessible when self catering. Lovely walks along the river Wensum and around the town. Recommend Mr Chips for fish and chips. We were able to sit outside under a rambling vine! Not easy to drive through the town. Definitely recommend a satnav.

Lena was a great host and greeted us on arrival at her beautiful property. We were left milk, coffee/tea and cake and other essentials in the cupboards, which were most welcome. When we had an issue with something in the kitchen which was broken, it was dealt with and replaced straight away. There was a lovely private garden, although we didn't have the weather to enjoy it unfortunately, but the fresh flowers on the kitchen table were a nice touch and brought the garden inside. Fakenham is well situated for visiting the area.
