Basically, I just liked Falmouth! I felt good there. Nice, friendly people, including the students. Good places to eat (Anacapri recommends some). Good shops. Loved the harbour and the Maritime Museum. Good running along the seafront and coastal path, also up to Pendennis Castle ( too late to get in - should have run faster). Easy to get around. I walked mostly but I could see frequent buses and ferry trips from the harbour. Train station 7 minutes walk fro the hotel.Yeah, I like Falmouth and I’ll go back!!
Falmouth is quite unique and has a very different feel to any other Cornish town that we’ve visited. It’s got a really young and vibrant atmosphere, it’s a working fishing town with a university, so there’s a lively, authentic vibe with lots going on! Many different places to eat for all sorts of budgets including a couple of restaurants offering BYOB, a few bars encouraging you to bring your own food and also a lovely pizza takeaway van, near the beach, where we took a bottle of wine and watched the sunset one evening! There’s also lots of very good seafood, Caribbean, Italian, Turkish and Indian restaurants too… we just ran out of time to eat at them all, we’ll just have to visit again soon! We found Falmouth was a very good base to visit the Lizard and Roseland peninsulas and particularly enjoyed Cadgwith and Coverack as well as Kynance Cove for the best cream tea of the week overlooking the most stunning beach!
The Big Ships we're back in Falmouth after 9 years so the place was busy and buzzing. Spent quite a bit of time in various pubs around the harbour and had a good indian meal in the high street. Penryn very quiet in comparison, and hard to find a place to eat there that hadn't closed by 10 pm. Good bus service between Falmouth and the uni campus.
Such a lovely place to visit and stay. Came for a trip to the Falmouth Tall Ships Race. Had a tour around the harbour, which is well worth it…. Great places to eat and lots of choices for all tastes, I’m vegan and had no problems finding great eateries
Me and my wife love Falmouth it’s our favourite spot in Cornwall, some lovely beach’s which are great for swimming, the best night life in Cornwall some really nice bars and pubs aswel as a wide variety of places to eat ,and it’s a stunning little town would highly recommend a stay here .
Falmouth is a beautiful, friendly bustling place with something for everyone! It has a lovely harbour to stroll around and a great array of independent shops to keep you interested. The beaches and public gardens are kept immaculate and the council should be applauded for this! It has a friendly vibe and is always great to return to and enjoy the best fish and chips on the harbour in all of Cornwall! :)
This hotel has a good gym, swimming pool, sauna, and spa facility. I would come back to use them again. The breakfast was excellent, however, not a huge choice to select from. We were told that we had to book breakfast at check-in and we only had the choice of 7.15am or 7.45am for breakfast - so not ideal if you want a lay-in whilst on holiday but I believe that this is probably due to Covid. A stone throw away from the beach and a short 10-15 minute walk away from the centre of Falmouth with lots of restaurants to choose from :).
Falmouth
We checked in late. After an initial delay the staff were able to set us a room with twin beds. They were very pleasant and hospitable during the wait. The hotel premises (outdoors) are lovely and indoors have strong wifi signals. Breakfast was delicious. This was a peaceful stay that I had imagined. I wish I stayed longer and explored the Gyllyngvase beach and the surrounding area.
Falmouth
Perfect location, beach just across the road & only a 12 minute walk to Falmouth centre, a great base to explore Cornwall. Excellent friendly staff, who were very knowledgeable of the area, nothing was too much trouble. Hotel was spotless & breakfast fab. Would definitely stay there again & highly recommend.
Super location and very nice room. Right between Gilly beach and the town centre. Electronic check in after a late arrival was efficient but impersonal and left a few details lacking eg no room key and no idea where and when to go for breakfast! I have sampled a few hotels in Falmouth and I would definitely return.
The hotel was wonderful, location and setting is incredible and the gardens are stunning. Rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. All staff were extremely attentive, welcoming excellent at their jobs and knowledgeable of the hotel - a real rarity!
Falmouth
My second stay here and still believe it to be fair value for money. Roseland House is a good middle of the road between a basic hotel/motel and a self-catering holiday accommodation. The key code entery makes the stay easy.
Location is great. Falmouth is a fantastic town. The hotel was really convenient and room was clean and tidy, just a 10 minute stroll to the beautiful beach and within seconds of loads of restaurants and bars.
Falmouth
A hotel room without the hotel. The price was a bargain and all the necessary facilites were provided. Everything was clean and tidy. Great location for Falmouth and the surounding area.
Location wise , best hotel in Falmouth and the surrounding area by far . Great views of the sea , large rooms , friendly staff , grand old building, beach 200 yds away ,good breakfast .
The view and the staff were wonderful. I didn't know it was a pet friendly hotel. Breakfast was good as well. The location was good. Fifteen minutes into town.
Breakfast was super and COVID wise all felt very safe. Comfortable rooms, luxurious bed. Staff super nice at this hotel. Would highly recommend.
Hosts were absolutely lovely and the accommodation was superb. Very handy for Falmouth and very comfortable. Can't recommend highly enough!
A lovely quiet hotel, hidden away from Falmouth. The staff are lovely, and the girls serving evening meal and breakfast work extremely hard.
