An absolutely blissful part of the world. This will be the place I return to, stay in the comfortable Angel House B&B, base camp in which to relax after a day of walking the countryside or exploring nearby Ludlow (with historic castle ruins, home of Prince Arthur and his new bride, Katharine of Aragon).
Hadnt been to area before.
Hadnt been to area before. Blown away by Shropshire Hills, amazing views, beautiful and thats coming from someone who lives in North Yorkshire near the Dales. Carding Mill Valley a must. View from top knocked our socks off. The views as we descended The Long Mynd were stunning.

Ludlow has plenty of eateries.
We liked the evening meals at The Queens pub. The exterior is plain but the inside is fine. We ate well - can recommend the fish - 3 nights in a row. It is popular so booking is needed to be sure. On the Sat evening it was fully booked, but we ate well at a hotel on the A49 called The Salwey Arms.
Just up the road from the B&B there is Clee Hill - which is interesting with its quarry remains and affords good views. Lots of nice walks from here.
There are plenty of pretty villages and old towns to explore and no lack of National Trust or English Heritage sites as well. The host will tell you where there are good tea rooms too!
We used our car and walked, but there seems to be good bus and train routes as well in this area.
