Ferndown
Located 10 miles from Bournemouth International Center, Violet 28 Oakdene Forest Park offers a garden, a bar and accommodations with a balcony and free WiFi. We had a wonderful stay in this lovely lodge. Communication with Roger was very good he replied very quickly to even the smallest query. The accommodation is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. With it having a brilliant American style fridge freezer we were able to take homemade frozen meals with us which we were able to eat in the lively decking, this was important for us as we had our 11 month old spaniel with us and eating out can be a little challenging at times. It’s position is perfect, very nice and private yet close to the amenities. It was the ideal holiday to be able to relax and enjoy a break whilst feeling safe in these uncertain covid times. Thank you Roger for a lovely stay.

The location is fantastic, very peaceful and great for families or couples. Easy to find and close to both the New forest and Bournemouth. The Holiday home is really well equipped, very comfortable and well taken care of. There's plenty of shops nearby as well as one onsite along with a restaurant, pool, gym and activities. The holiday home is on a cul-de-sac in the park and very quiet at night time. The host is fantastic. She's very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. Great place to stay if you’re flying from Bournemouth. Loved the river view rooms at the back which were quiet . Nice to be able to have a drink and eat there . Good menu and great range of drinks . Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Ferndown like Ringwood, Wimborne, Poole and all other surrounding towns and villages are very pretty, the beaches are clean and safe it really is a beautiful part of the country. There are loads of great pubs. Lots of main roads, were expecting country lanes so pleasantly surprised how easy and quick it was to get around.
Very good place to stay Liked: It was a very nice place to stay for us and children. Comfortable beds and black window blinds were exactly what we needed in bedrooms after long days out. Master bedroom is ensuite (shower, toilet, sink and storage spaces). Kitchenette well equipped - there was everything we needed to prepare some meals. Another great and convenient point was a washing/dryer machine. Big wardrobes helped us to stay organised. There is an elevator in the building, so really easy access to the flat. We liked also the private parking (with coded gate), despite we drive a big car and it was a bit tricky to park it there. Plenty of shops around same as a good choice of restaurants to pick. Overall we would recommend to stay in this flat. It was a good base for our excursions. Disliked: 1. Kitchenette cupboards doors should be cleaned better (as some of them were a bit sticky/greasy) 2. I would add colander to the kitchenette equipment 3. Shower hose in the bathroom was broken 4. Towels were not nice as they were very dark and left plenty of bobbings/fluff on the skin and surfaces (once I've dried out the skin bath was covered with these small dark fluffs from the towel) 5. Missed a mop (or something) to wipe off the floor in the bathroom (after childrens bath).
Good size rooms, staff not friendly, more I interested in the golfers, breakfast not great very basic cooked breakfast, poor service, found long hairs in bed spa facilities looked good. would not stay here again
Ease of late booking albeit early in season; flexible change of room on arrival; rural aspect from bedroom window; food; comfort; cleanliness; friendly staff; nice car park with secure features; convenience for visiting places of interest (Wimborne Minster, Priest House Museum, Kingston Lacy, Badbury Rings; not too far from Wareham ((Saxon town, St Martins & Lady St Mary Churches; Isle of Purbeck, Corfe Castle, Worth Matravers, Studland, view of Old Harry Rocks; (we didn’t get as far as St Aldhelm Head or Brownsea Island, though saw the latter from Sandbanks to Studland Ferry)0
I did not visit the town. Big supermarket and other shops there. I am well aquainted with it. I visited the big shopping centre at Castlepoint. The weather was atrocious so a shopping/eating day on this occasion.
A really lovely hotel with very helpful staff.
The spa, Hotel and grounds were amazing 😍
