Unfortunately we weren't there long enough to explore. What we saw was at night time and there was not a lot happening. It was tricky to book somewhere to dine in. We ate at a tiny, traditional pub called The Griffon and the food was incredible - exactly what you see on their menu! Really want to come back for the market.
I love Frome, especially the number of independent shops/artists/galleries and markets, as well as pedestrian zones. It is close to Stourhead which we visited. It has everything one could want: an excellent coffee shop, an artist supplies shop, a cinema, a wonderful book shop, beautiful paths to walk along the river on.
Such a lovely town, friendly, easy to get around, it was our first time and a great find! Lots more to explore, lovely restaurants (Bistro Lotte; High Pavement); wonderful independent stores and shops. And we hear a great Sunday market which we missed, will return for sure!!
Beautiful little town, lots of independant, arty and antique shops and restaurants. We were told that the monthly independant markets are worth a visit and will be coming back for those. Quite a number of old buildings and architecture. Younger crowd, possibly because some of the streets are quite steep to climb. We did see parents struggling with baby buggies. Good variety of places to eat - especially Dragon Pearl, which has a dedicated Vegan menu! Best chinese take away we've had in a while. Barnacle Bill had some interesting and delicious vegan choices too, such as battered fennel. River House for breakfast a must, but arrive early as it gets very busy. Easy to walk about and see the town in a day. Be aware most shops and some cafe's and restaurants are closed on a Sunday, unless it's the Independant market day! We ended up going for lots of little walks around town instead.
Frome is a lovely town with mainly quirky little shops. It is very hilly. It has little micro pubs everywhere. Frome is very central to get to places like Longlest, Bath and Monkey world. We ate at Corderos lounge very good for Vegan food. Castellos Italian and the Black Pearl Chinese restaurant. All were excellent.
Frome is a great little town in a good location for exploring the area. There are a number of good places to eat - our favourite is the Cordero Lounge where the staff are brilliant and food is good value (great choices of vegetarian dishes too). There is a very pleasant river walk from the bridge on the main road which leads to a park (great for kids/dogs).

Penny’s Mill is a stunningly beautiful place to stay. We stayed for the weekend in the family suite with our two year old son. It was a perfect space to relax and it really helped having the separate bedrooms and lounge area. The breakfast was very nice and the conservatory we ate it in was stunning! It’s situated only a short journey by car to Longleat Safari Park and Nunney is a very pretty little village. The hosts Bill and Rosie were very accommodating and friendly. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again! Thank you for a lovely stay!
The staff were very friendly and our request for a quiet room was accommodated. It was a very hot day when we stayed so found the room to be very hot but a fan was provided and there was a large window. For an overnight stay it was great and the location was ideal. Few minutes walk to Frome's town centre shops, cafes and restaurants. Also got free car parking. Breakfast which was included was great too - quite a bit of choice.

Gorgeous little pub hotel in the centre of town, the free-standing bath in the room was amazing - spent half my holiday in the tub! Nice bar downstairs, overall felt a bit more fancy than your standard pub hotel but still a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff.
