We went to Glasgow specifically for the Macintosh experience. - We went to the Macintosh tea rooms in Buchanan Street as the Sauckiehall Street venue was closed for refurbishment. We had intended to go to the Burrell collection but were advised it had closed (early) for a four year refurbishment. We went to the Hunterson Museum at Glasgow University as well as other notable places. Chief of these was a visit to Hill House in Helensburgh which Macintosh built and completely furnished for Mr Blackie, a well-known Glasgow publisher. A superb house with excellent, knowledgeable guides. We also visited Glasgow Cathedral and St Mungo's House - again with excellent guides. One evening we ate in the restaurant at the Dakota Hotel - the food was extremely good. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel: instead we found a lovely little café/tea room - The Butterfly and Pig in Bath Street. Glasgow is very hilly - but with many very fine buildings so always something worth looking at.
Excellent business hotel, a little far out of centre but good secure parking is the bonus. very good ensuite rooms, bath in each is nice and the towels were exceptionally soft, rare for hotels to buy very good quality in this area. The TV was large flat screen and well positioned. Lots of power points which was good. Beds were queen sized and exceptionally comfy! rooms cool also , so many hotels are stuffy! public area fit out to a reasonable standard and very clean. choice of bar and resturant menus good. Also a very good restaurant next door if you fancy a change and walkable to. On the whole I have used 4 Glasgow Hotels in the last 3 months and this is by far the best at this price point.
A very friendly city. Service with a smile everywhere we went. The Crowne Plaza Hotel was a great place to stay being close to the concert venue we were going to. The hotel was comfortable with very friendly and helpful staff and serving delicious food. Only an overnight stay in this lovely city, but with so much to see and do, I will definitely be back to Glasgow and sample more of its wonderful hospitality.
Hotel was good for what we wanted, all three of us stayed in a family room, weather wasn't the best, hotel was on a good bus route, Glasgow city centre was a 45min walk, shopping centre was huge! 2 big shopping malls, Plenty of bars an resturants, taxis were easy to use also another good visit was the transport museum, don't charge to go in, just ask for a donation
Having retired early back to the east of Scotland after 25 years in England, we wanted to see what the redeveloped Glasgow had to offer us. We were delighted to find that the area around the SECC has everything to offer by way of accommodation and so easy to get to. We parked the car on arrival at the hotel and either walked or used public transport to get around the city.Delighted to try the 'Clockwork Orange ' for the first time into the City Centre. The paths and signposts are so easy to follow to various locations, ie Museums and Gardens, with distance and time scales printed on!!!We had a pleasant leisurely walk back to the Hotel. If you like indian food The India Quay is a must to eat..... We could have spent the two days we were there visiting the Museums by the Clyde located near the Hotel where we were staying. We will be revisiting to see some more of Glasgow's during the summer.......

An added bonus they have a terrace over looking the Clyde. Drinks prices not to expensive, what you’d expect in a bar city centre! We were supposed to go out but hotel atmosphere was that nice we just stayed in! Rooms were nice, clean and beds comfortable. Would definitely be my first choice for a night away again!

Arrived early morning after an overnight flight from Canada and were able to check into our room immediately!! Very much appreciated after a long night. As we were walking everywhere during our two days in Glasgow, having a hotel in a central locale, was fantastic!! Just steps away from George Square and Glasgow Queen Street Station. A short walking distance to Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis. Our room was on the bottom floor at the back of the building, so was very quiet.

The location of the hotel was excellent and it was very clean and well-priced. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful with recommendations of where to go for food. I actually was not keen on staying in Glasgow (this was the last stop on our week-long trip) but it turned out to be a great city and I would definitely go back! I would actually also stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to friends and family.

It was in a central area and right next to the bus station which was super convenient. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very helpful but the rooms were very small and you can’t open the windows which gave me a little bit of claustrophobia. Aside from very small rooms the room itself was clean and the bed was comfy. So as long as you’re ok in small spaces this hotel is a great place to stay in Glasgow.
