FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-Loving and Forward Thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organisations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world class. Not to be missed are the futuristic-looking Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, every taste is catered for.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sport. Scotland’s 2 most iconic football clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national football stadium Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centres cover everything from high street brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you’ve left enough space in your bags!

Super City, great atmosphere, has everything for everyone, fantastic nightlife & had 2 fantastic tours around Hampden Park & Ibrox, the later a must for anyone interested in history & football. Super transport links with 3 train stations in the city centre, untold buses & an underground train system & a fast bus link to the airport from the City centre.

Easy to get from Airport to the Hotel on the airport bus.

Easy to get from Airport to the Hotel on the airport bus. Driver helpful in getting me to the hotel. Spent 1st night, got over jet lag and walked to Cathedral, museum and Cemetery. Spent 2nd night and then rented a car to make a clockwise trip around all of Scotland. Glasgow was a great jump off place. When I visit with my wife in the future, I will start in Glasgow. Beautiful city, but litter and graffiti ruins some of it...

good bars and restaurant diversity was very good.

good bars and restaurant diversity was very good. However Glasgow prices are very expensive, both drink and food. I thought Ireland was bad however Scotland is quite more expensive for simple vacationing.

The locals are really friendly and all too willing to help visitors - you are treated as a guest rather than a visitor! There is plenty to do and see in the city and any of the locals will give you the benefit of local knowledge in this regard if you ask. Glasgow is an excellent base from which to explore further afield by bus, train or taxi. There are excellent restaurants/ cafes to suit all budgets and the pubs - most of them! - are a great way to spend an evening or an afternoon during your stay. There is always something going on in the city so make sure to check "What's on" during the period that you are staying as you may find something that makes your visit that wee bit more special!

    Nice city with great people.

Nice city with great people. You can find lots of interesting places just walking around the city. From slick new buildings to old Cathedrals. You can visit the Necropolis and the Great Stephan cathedral. You have to go to Riverside museum, the Botanica Gardens, Kelvingroove Art Gallery and Museum. Plus lots more.

I loved the museums and galleries.

I loved the museums and galleries. There's a really good energy in Glasgow. My one complaint is that I use public transit and the buses did not have an electronic board which displayed the stops as they came up, and the bus drivers seemed surprised to be asked to call out the requested stop.

One of the best hotels we've stayed at in Glasgow City centre I cannot fault anything I told them when I booked it that it was my partners birthday and they did not disappoint. So clean and spacious well situated and the reception staff sonny especially were amazing 10 out of 10 will definitely be back thank you for making my partners birthday night away special. Also the price of the room for a Friday night was great. I cannot put into words how much we enjoyed staying at this hotel.

This is a very new and beautiful hotel in the city centre of Glasgow. The room was very spacious and well maintained. The bed and the pillows were like sleeping on a cloud and I loved the air conditioning in the room. A big shout-out to Victoria on the front desk who engaged in a very long chat with me about what I should do and visit while in I was in Glasgow for a few days. Her customer service skills were excellent and many other hotels could learn from her service and attitude.

Good view of the river, the bar is nicely placed on the riverside. Good bar and attentive staff. We came in from the airport via the airport express bus and was easily able to walk along the river from the Glasgow city centre. There are also bus services to the hotel so without the need of a car it's fairly easy to get too, comfortable rooms, although they ran a little hot.

Good location, although it is necessary to conquer the climb to reach the hotel but that didn't bother me. Although the hotel does feel a bit old, the rooms and facilities are very clean (even the shared ones), the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was very good, and the staff was exceptional. I wouldn't mind staying here again while visiting Glasgow.

The bus into Glasgow city Centre was close by (2 minute walk)if you turned right as you came out of the house and walked up to the dual carriage way , cross over the other side of the road to catch the 267 bus towards the city Centre.

The downstairs lobby was a little dingy but when you come out to the hotel on the 6th floor, it is bright and airy. The hotel puts out home made baked treats for visitors, reception was very nice, and the rooms clean. This was one of our best lodging on our trip to Scotland!
