what a magnificent hotel. every room is different. all have so much character. this old building feels a bit like hogwarts. I am sure some of the stairs moved, and some of the pictures talked. we spend hours roaming around the hotel looking for hidden gems like the reading room and even the gym (not really a gem but it was fun looking for it). breakfast is a bit pricey for what you get but the room and the buffet are beautiful. staff is amazing, funny, smart, nice and professional. I would definitely come back. hopefully soon.

I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff's warm and welcoming attitude stood out, making me feel right at home. Every member of the team was incredibly attentive and went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The service at the hotel was nothing short of amazing. The front desk staff were efficient and helpful, housekeeping maintained the room impeccably, and any requests were promptly addressed with a smile. The room was spacious, and had all the amenities I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the view from my room was breathtaking. Overall, the Clayton Hotel provided an outstanding stay, primarily due to the incredible staff and their dedication to excellent service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Glasgow. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so memorable.

A wonderful place to stay in the Merchant City. Friendly staff (including the owner), amazing food and drink, great location, loads of character and tradition. Babbity Bowster has only around six rooms. I stayed in a single room, which was small, but very nicely furnished. Worth a visit even if you aren't staying over. Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organizations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world-class. Don't miss the futuristic Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, there's something for everybody.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sports. Scotland’s 2 iconic soccer clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national soccer stadium, Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

    Buildings in need of whitewash.

Buildings in need of whitewash. Gorgeous architecture but the drunkards in the streets and the lack of sanitation ( rubbish lying around ) brings the city down. There’s a feeling they could be great but can’t be bothered. People seem to lack ambition or direction. Super wealthy living there behind closed doors. Gorgeous indoor spaces, but only accessible to people with money. Needs a lot of work to become a world city which is a shame considering that after Liverpool it was the 2nd wealthiest city in the uk at one point.

Take the city tour bus to gain a feel of the different areas, it’s a great way to get to the ‘must see’ places. The Kelvingrove museum is amazing with a brilliant organ recital at 1pm, I had lunch here then later on tea and cake - both very tasty. Transport museum worth a visit too. Glasgow is an easy city to walk or travel round. Buchanan Galleries a great shopping mall

Lovely Hotel right in Glasgow City Centre with restaurants and bars along the same road. Spacious room, and good tea coffee making facilities. Parking in Glasgow no problem as the NCP close by they will give you a ticket at reception when you check out, or check in, which you will use with the original ticket you obtain when entering the car park.. It's easy....Just find the car park which is the Glasshouse, G1 1UP, on entry get a ticket and pay on exit but use both car park tickets putting the original one in first....
