The host Vincent was very amenable and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. Vincent has lots of local knowledge which he is more than willing to share and has recommendations for many varied restaurants & eateries which he will prebook for you. A wonderful host, breakfast was exceptional and we would definitely recommend to anyone wishing an adult only stay.

If you research Hastings then you get what you have looked at. The Front from St Leonard's and Hastings is vibrant and has none of the faded glory that some sea side places have. We always look with positive eyes on any place.

I was not visiting Hastings as a tourist; but the seafront seemed a bit run down and in need of some TLC. The old town was better and I had a couple of pints and some good food in a pub which brewed its own beer.

Hastings is a rundown town, it’s glory days are long gone.
Hastings is a rundown town, it’s glory days are long gone. The local council seem to have run out of money and there’s no maintenance being done. The pavements around Warrior Square are covered in weeds. The flowerbed are likewise weed covered. It just down at heal and not a nice environment. Many houses appear to being held up with scaffolding. The roads are dreadful, full of potholes. There’s roadworks along the front which are light controlled and the traffic can be backed up for hundreds of yards. I never saw a worker actually attending the roadworks. It’s a sad place to visit.

Hastings was an elegant seaside resort 100 years ago.
Hastings was an elegant seaside resort 100 years ago. Since then it has fallen on hard times but hopefully it is on the way up now. The elegant Georgian and early Victorian architecture still looks good however even if a little faded.

Hastings is a wonderful town with so much historic relevance through the centuries it makes your head swirl. If you might be interested in such contexts you should take some time...
If you're interested in the nature of the coast and the cliffs/hills you will also find everything here.
Needless to say the beers and ciders are brilliant.
And don't forget to visit Bexhill nearby - such a relaxed (and relaxing) little town.

History of Hastings is significant - worth the read.
History of Hastings is significant - worth the read. Town is lively and lovely, as well as quirky! Music scene is alive and people are friendly. Climb the hills for breathtaking views and get a sense of place near the Channel. Easy to arrive by the Southeastern Rail. Bus service around the area is superb.
The location could not be any better with the seafront and shops/restaurants 30 seconds walk. The place was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Even a great view from the window/balcony.
Parking was easy and cheap which was good as we were there for 2 nights. First time in Hastings and when going back I will be staying here again.
The location was amazing, 2 minutes walk to Hastings pier and a short walk to Clambers softplay. The high Street and lovely artisan shops were also right near the hotel. The staff were so friendly and happy to help, which is so rare to find these days.
This is an old-style grand hotel in maybe the best seafront location in the Hastings and St Leonards area. There are huge public rooms and bedroom spaces, wonderful views of the sea and good food.
