Set in Helston, within 16 km of St Michael's Mount and 19 km of Lizard Lighthouse & Heritage Centre, Strathallan Guest House offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi throughout the property as... We lived in Helston 1979-1981 and we wanted to stay where we could walk into town to reminisce our memories. It feels like home❤️ When we were planning our visit, I really wanted to stay in the heart of the village and The Strathallan was perfect. Our room was cozy with all the comforts needed. David and Valerie are the heart and soul of Strathallan and make you feel so very welcome. OH MY WORD, breakfast everyday was amazing, Chef David is a class act in the kitchen. Oh night we mentioned just going to get Chinese take-away and he said he would set a table for two in the breakfast room for us to use to eat our dinner. The gesture was so very special and we would highly recommend The Strathallan to everyone. Well done and we’ll be back. Thank You, Russ and Sue

Set in Helston, Tresowes Green Cottage offers free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and water sports facilities. This is a delightful holiday cottage in an area with lots to do nearby and within easy reach of some beautiful beaches and gorgeous little harbours. There are many great restaurants a short drive away and we particularly enjoyed a trip to the Minack theatre. Johnny and Leslie are excellent hosts and sent the most comprehensive information pack I've seen in many years of travel. It meant that my husband and I could book some fabulous trips in advance which was a real advantage in these times. The gardens are stunning, we ran out of time to enjoy everything fully so we hope to be back soon.
Nice little shopping area good selection of shops.Lovely boating lake with swans etc.Spent quite a bit of time there. Ate at Wetherspoons as other pubs in town not doing food at time of our visit.Staff shortages?Easy to walk into Helston from where we stayed .Large Tesco opposite our accomodation.
Helston is a lovely little place. There are nice pubs and places to eat, especially the burger place called Boo Koos . A few good shops to peruse, would stay here again as it makes a good base for exploring the area.
I have visited Helston many times and find that the town is suffering from the results of the pandemic and its affect on local businesses. Having said that the area around is still full of interesting places to visit and nice people.
Helston as a town has been left behind. In poor shape. However, the surrounding area is wonderful. Porthleven, small but very friendly and welcoming. Location ideal for exploring the St Ives, Penzance, St Michael's Mount, and the coast from Porthleven round to Falmouth. Wonderful memories 💖. Thank you.
St Keverne is a typical Cornish Village with a village square with convenience store and 2 pubs. It is about a mile from some of the beaches on the Lizard peninsula. Coverack is a couple of miles with good road access, car parking and some beach facilities. We didn't visit Helston.
We ate at wetherspoons several times. We were within fairly easy walking distance of the town and several pubs. There were some quite steep hills to climb to get to or from the town from where we stayed. We walked in but there were car parks with spaces available. It is not that pretty a place but a good base to explore further afield from. We went to meet up with family and did not really stay in Helston much, There are some great places to visit round about. Penlee house, Trengwainton gardens.Castle Drogo,Tremenheere sculpture gardens, to name a few.

Almost everything was exceptional. June was kind enough to upgrade our room which came with a balcony and lovely views of sunset in the evening. Breakfast was really good, Wi-Fi was good, our room was clean and modernly furnished, but what impressed us the most was how covid-19 safe the provisions were. June was very friendly and explained everything through out. She was incredibly kind and asked us multiple times if there was something that we needed.

Newly refurbished room with loads of space, a comfortable bed with nice linen, decent fittings and a modern shower room. Also good wifi and a smart TV, although the signal for the TV was dodgy. The location is a short walk from Helston should you wish to sample its somewhat sparse delights. They left an air-conditioning unit in the room which was thoughtful.

This hotel is an actual gem! Situated right on the beach in a quiet little village. The facility was stunning and the rooms perfect! Tip: the mirror in the bathroom contains a light for getting ready (I only discovered this on leaving). But I will 100% be coming back for a weekend. The staff were lovely and the breakfast just perfect also! Thanks so much!
