Nestled in the Chiltern Hills, just north of the River Thames as it winds through Buckinghamshire, The Stag and Huntsman is located in the picturesque village of Hambleden. The location, accommodations, restaurant, and staff were amazing. We were a family with small children and had never visited this area before. The small village is so picturesque that often films are shot at this location. The owners, staff, food, and mascot (Griffindor the dog) made us wish we stayed more than just the one night. We stayed in the cottage was was a house complete with set kitchen table, toiletries in the bathroom, and working fireplace.

We have relatives in Henley and are well acquainted with the area for many years. We attended a civic service on the Sunday at the Parish Church of Saint Mary the Virgin which was most enjoyable. We would recommend a visit to the Church to anyone visiting Henley for the first time, a most interesting building
My first visit to Henley on Thames. Beautiful village/town. Perfect place to relax with walks by River, boat trip and plenty of nice restaurants. Loved food at Giggling Squid and Bisto by Boathouse.
Such a pretty town filled with the relaxed holiday feel. We love the water and just sitting by the river watching the boats. There's an excellent bus service from the centre to Oxford - return tickets cost £6 each. Took a boat ride down the river from Henley £20 for both of us, drinks available on board. Dusty Springfield is buried here and you can visit her grave.
A lovely Riverside town which we loved. A very nice town with interesting shops. Plenty of lovely walks and eating places. Loved it. Had a very nice ride up river also. Thoroughly recommend for a weekend break.
Henley has great walks along the river, good places to eat and an interesting River Museum ( check times of opening)There are several car parks .The one we found was free and near the dramatic Weir with salmon ladder Our grandsons found all the information interesting and further along the path back to Henley was an excellent grassy space with Wishing Tree in which to run around with a rugby ball.Even the dog enjoyed himself!
This was my worst trip to Henley so far. There was far too many people. None of them seem to adhering to social distancing. The bridge should of been one way but wasn't so you had to walk really close to people or risk getting run over by standing in the road to pass people at a safe distance.
Henley on Thames
We visited here with our 3year old grand daughter as we were visiting Legoland. Its not really a place for young children but we were never made to feel this way that is just us overthinking as my grand daughter is quite loud and always asking questions at the wrong time. Breakfast was beautiful. Rooms were clean, modern and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel. Its near the centre of Henley-on-Thames so plenty of places to eat or there is a waitrose 5 minutes away. Only 30minutes away from Legoland
Henley on Thames
Five star spotless accommodation with washing and kitchen facilities on site. Extremely comfortable King sized bed. Breakfast was very extensive and of excellent quality - even treated to eggs from the Handywater chickens! Owners very friendly and attentive and we were treated to a glass of prosecco in the garden which was a very welcoming touch. Quiet area close by to Henley on Thames with some very pleasant walking nearby. We wouldn't hesitate to return if we were visiting the area again.

Very clean apartment. Ordered breakfast which you cook yourself, the owner fillls up the fridge with bacon, eggs, bread, juice, yogurts and so much more, in fact too much to mention it all! The owners are very pleasant and make you feel very welcome. It is also in a good location, about a 10 minute stroll into Henley town centre, I would definitely recommend to family and friends and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Situated on the bank of the Thames in Henley, the Leander is an excellent place to stay, eat or drink. The staff are efficient and friendly. They have just opened an outside bar and a large raised decking area right on and overlooking the river. Lots of sensible Covid measures in place to keep both staff and customers safe. Huge car park providing free parking for residents and guests. Highly recommended.
The view from the room which overlooks the Thames was amazing, as was the view from the breakfast area. The breakfast choice was perfect for us and the cooked breakfast was really well cooked. The hotel is of a very high standard, pricing at the restaurant and bar very reasonable.

Property is a 10min walk from Henley on Thames although it is on what looks to be a council estate. It’s a bit rough and ready but if it’s just a base then it’s clean enough and comfortable.
I love, love, love this hotel and always stay there when I am in Henley. The rooms are amazing and the breakfast is fantastic. The location is ideal.
