Between the beautiful Malvern Hills and the Welsh border, Castle House is situated in Hereford, 2 minutes’ walk from the cathedral. There is free Wi-Fi throughout, and free parking on site. My god that place is Heaven on earth. Lovely hotel, lovely outside. Best English breakfast ever. Staff service is perfect (wake up service + taxi reservation). They can handle almost everything you need.
Aylestone Court Hotel and Restaurant is a restored Georgian town house just 10 minutes’ walk from Hereford city centre. It offers rooms with TV and an á la carte restaurant. A beautiful historic house in a garden setting but only a 15 minute walk to the town centre. The hosts are quite outstanding, always ready to help and give suggestions on what to see and do in Hereford. They make you feel like friends. The breakfast was in a lovely garden room, not crowded and with Classic FM Radio playing in the background ( thank you Jo and Michael). My pet hate is the silent dining room. The breakfast was excellent and beautifully served by well trained staff. Nothing was too much trouble.

Didn’t have long enough to do it justice. Lovely old streets, an amazing cathedral and the world famous Mappa Mundi. People we met were friendly. The countryside is beautiful. Liked it so much, we’re going back next month for another break and hope to walk on the Bromyard Downs which were highly recommended.
The cathedral and river is a lovely area. The city is very historic. Don't be put off the immediate area near the railway station which is shabby and rundown. Not a great gateway for what is a really nice place.
The Cathedral is a must visit. Very nice staff and plenty of history. Free to go in unless you want to visit the Mappa Mundi, a medieval map of the world created around 1300 by Richard of Holdingham. Town centre has a mix of chain stores and individual shops. Really enjoyed our 2 day visit
The black and white house museum is a very interesting place to visit. The cathedral was so interesting and it was great to see the Mappa Mundi and the chained library. The staff were so friendly and we could have listened to them all day as they shared their interest and knowledge. We were lucky as we heard the cathedral choir practising for the afternoon's broadcast which we enjoyed later on the radio.
Hereford is a small city on the river Wye. The old part of the city has the cathedral, the black and White House, library and some interesting architecture. Usual shops and numerous coffee shops but many, many empty properties which surprised us. There is a new development of shops etc a short walk away from the old town. The road from the city to the station was full of takeaways and looke d rather seedy and depressing!! It is a good base to explore, Hay on Wye, Ross on Wye, the black and white trail etc.
Beautiful city, great food to be had and everyone was friendly. Lots to do from the Cathedral, Theatre or Cinema to just walking. Relatively easy to navigate the town. A lovely pub The Spread Eagle for both food and drink with a friendly atmosphere. Dogs allowed. Thai Gallery was totally awesome food staff everything and the Miller and Carter at the Old Market one of the best we've been to.

Very cental location for station with paid parking nearby at either the bus station or train station. Loads of eateries or indeed everything within walking distance. Excellent value and beats some hotels hands down. Thanks Laura for making our weekend such a memorable one.... we'll be back and telling all our friends xxx

It's a lovely hotel spread across acres of green land and the room almost was like a little bungalow and privacy is fabaulous and staff were so helpful and brilliant. BEST WELCOME at any hotel I've ever stayed at in 15 years of travelling for work. Food was brilliant. Really nice lounge to hang out in. Lovely little (but very well stocked) bar with local ale. Comfy bed. Lots of space in my room. Really interesting building with good history. Had some good conversations with the lady who runs it. Just book it! I will definitely stay there again.

Rob was a great host, very friendly and knowledgeable and gave great advice about where to go in the area. The room was nice and big and the bed was exceptionally comfy, had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was also great with a choice of cooked options and cereals all done to order. Very close to the centre of Hereford and lots of shops close by.

Loved being at a family run property. Great access to Hereford and the local area. Short taxi ride into the centre of Hereford, worth finding out some local knowledge and choosing smaller run restaurants and establishments. There a a few you could choose from.

The room was nice and spacious and also had an outdoor terrace (though we didn't use this as the weather wasn't great). The property was in a quiet residential area but within easy walking distance of the town centre. Breakfast was also very good.
