With a central location, 5 minutes’ walk from the Underground Station, the family-run Devonshire Hotel in Hornchurch provides luxurious rooms and indulgent breakfasts. High standard of presentation, cleanliness and friendly efficient service. The Devonshire never disappoints, couldn’t wait for it to re-open after lock down so we could visit family in the area.
A 2-minute walk from Hornchurch Underground Station and a 40-minute drive from the center of London, this lodge offers well-equipped bedrooms, a bar, a restaurant and free parking. all excellent. Very quiet even though it is above a pub. They had gone to a lot of trouble to provide gluten free food for me. There was no lift but they carried our bags. The food in the pub was outstanding!

The Hotel is ideally situated near both the M25 and Hornchurch Tube Station. The room was great and in particular the domestic staff were brilliant and made me feel genuinely cared for. In total a good experience and I will most certainly stay again when I visit the area. My thanks to all at Inkeepers Rest.
Good local shopping also in nearby Romford. Hornchurch is on the London District Line, part of the London Underground system, to take you into Central London for Theatre Land, Westminster, The City of London and of course, Buckingham Palace. Hornchurch also has a Main Line Station providing rail links to the rest of the UK..
The town of Hornchurch is very clean and tidy facilities such as restraints are in abundance and the night life has a good ambience plenty of green open spaces to walk good bus route generally a very nice tiwn
Hornchurch is a great place to stay if visiting London. It is some way out of central London, but it's a train ride which is very simple. There's some great pubs in Hornchurch and it's a nice part of outer London.
The Hotel is very nice, extremely friendly member of staff, very clean but the Breakfast is abolutely horrendous. The price of the night is similar than Holiday Inn and Premier Inn, thefore is no excuse to Hornchurch provide such a terrible breakfast (what they called a few Continental Breakfast). The Hotel should provide more than one option of bread and at least cheese, ham, cakes, etc, enough croissants (not just one per person), and a hot coffee or a better coffe machine. We would not recomend the hotel for that reason, we think the hotel was too price to just a night sleep. To have just a night sleep without breakfast is better to book Travelodge.
Very clean room and well decorated. Shower was disappointing as not a lot of pressure and far too hot. Just a curtesy call or an email to inform guests about live music and noise prior to their stay would be a good idea and probably reduce complaints? Staff were fine although as nobody was around when we checked out and put our keys in the box there was nobody to tell about our concerns. Also was a little annoyed when lunch on Saturday wasn’t served until an hour later then stated on the menu.
The property was located very close to Hornchurch underground station which made it very convenient. The room was nice and breakfast was included to make it a very cost effective stay compared to other place in the area.
Location near to Hornchurch station
