Heathrow, a Heath and Stately Homes
In the closest London Borough to Heathrow Airport, Hounslow hotels and guesthouses on Booking.com are understandably a popular choice for those flying in and out of the UK’s busiest airport. However, there are more reasons to stay here than just this.
Hounslow Heath has a nature reserve and golf course, and to the north in the Osterley suburb is the National Trust-operated Osterley Park with its stately home and gardens. Southeast of here is Syon House, while Hanworth Park House is in the Feltham district, home to just some of the hotels near Heathrow Terminal 4. Also close by is the wildlife haven of Bedfont Lakes Country Park.
There are also 2 smaller parks in the Cranford district, near the Bath Road which passes the road leading to Heathrow Terminals 1-3. Most hotels near Heathrow on this road are served by an airport shuttle which has transfers to all 5 terminals. At the opposite end of the airport from Hounslow, Terminal 5 is the newest and most state of the art, and has its own station on the London Underground.
All Heathrow Airport stations are on the Piccadilly Line and have fast connections to the 3 Tube stations in Hounslow itself, and beyond to central London.

We stayed in Hounslow area for one primary reason, our hotel was close to the Hounslow Central Tube Station which was close to Heathrow airport for our departing flight and we could take a short tube ride to The Kew Gardens the day before we left. I was absolutely appalled by my stay at this miserable hotel. The beds were a nightmare - imagine sleeping on a wooden plank with a paper-thin mattress that guaranteed zero comfort and maximum back pain. The room was so tiny and claustrophobic that I felt like I was trapped in a closet, with zero wardrobe space and barely enough room to move. To make matters worse, there was no drinking water provided, and when I asked for a bottle, they had the audacity to charge me 4 pounds! The entire experience was a complete disaster, and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this place like the plague. Near the M4 so no congestion charge and free parking, 3.30 hours from Plymouth. 5 minutes walk from Hounslow West tube on the Piccaddily Line which is 35 minutes to Hyde Park Corner. We were at a concert on a Friday and theatre on the Saturday and on both nights the Piccadily line runs 24 hours. Super friendly staff, free continental breakfast. The room was small but clean and they changed our towels daily....and for £85 a night that's all you can ask for. Very grateful for that. The Hotel was clean with the rooms being particularly clean and comfortable. Had a really comfortable and peaceful sleep. The room has everything needed for comfort with TV, good Tea and Coffee selection and good shower with Drum Head. Paid a little extra for the Breakfast which was worth it also.
