Situated within 7 km of Sinclair's Bay, Alba Sunrise in Keiss has a number of amenities including a garden. This 3-star guest house offers free WiFi. Marco and Ann are wonderful hosts who are keen to make sure that their guests are happy and well cared for. The room was large and well appointed with lovely chairs to rest in. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, using their own chicken's eggs. We had a lovely view over farmland and down to the sea, which was very restful. There was even a small fridge in the room, and Marco provided us with welcome cold water on arrival. He also recommended the Seaview Restaurant in John O'Groats for dinner, and that was a winning recommendation.
We stayed at the Seaview Hotel. We were part of the 80th Anniversary John o' Groat's to Monte Carlo Rally. The occasion was splendidly organised and memorable. The weather (snow and ice) helped make the occasion, with the piper and the Lord Lieutenant to see the cars off. John o' Groat's is a lovely little place with the facilities that visitors require. Can't think of anything negative to say.
The seascape and the feeling that you've reached the end of the mainland. The proximity to Dunnet Head and Duncansby Head. Great food at the Seaview Hotel - we had fish both nights and were not disappointed.
Expect the usual over commercialism at this location. Busy with tourists, obviously. But still a quite pleasant harbour, good views across the seas to the Orkneys. Only a short walk along the coast to Duncansby Head, the most North easterly point of mainland Britain
Only stayed one night on our way to Orkney, visited the sign and left early morning so can’t really say much else We had fish and chips from the cabin near the sign which were great, highly recommended and freshly cooked, perfect for warming us all up.
Worth a short stay, Castleof Mey only short distance away. Seaview hotel about only place to eat at night, reasonable menu though limited if you stay more than one night. Beautiful scenery, worth a walk over the cliff tops.
The peace and quiet was the wonderful. Local walking trails were easy to follow or if wanted there were books to read or even DVDs to watch on stormy days. The local Seaview Hotel offered wonderful food and friendly service to complete a wonderful stay. To top it off I saw a seal swimming from my window one morning. Perfection.

Did this trip to start my end to end challenge on my motorbike arrived and met by the host who couldn't have been nicer offering to run me to the hotel for food. Didn't have the breakfast because I was setting off at 3am and didn't realise he'd taken the price of breakfast off what a gentleman. Room was toasty and welcome after a tough trip through the Cairngorms and because I had no signal on my mobile he kindly allowed me to use his landline to call home. Very nice place run by a very nice man.

Comfortable large room. We could eat at the hotels restaurant which was a plus as John o groats is a very small town as everyone catches the ferry to and fro from the Orkneys. Meal was nice as was breakfast.
