By far, one of my favourite places to stay! We loved the outdoor terrace, the spectacular views and the genuine staff! Not to mention, great breakfast! Also, loved the idea of having dogs allowed - there were so many around which really added to the wonderful ambience :)

The room was quiet but for the afternoon/evening hours, since our window was just above an outdoor cafe/bar. We needed the circulation so we had to keep it open. By bedtime it was quiet again. The room was small, but that is usually the case in European accommodations. The beds were pushed together but they had set it with separate linens to accommodate 2 singles sharing the bed. The room had a sitting area between the bed and ensuite facility, furnished with a small divan, chair and coffee table. The furniture was not really needed and made the space seem even smaller. We only stayed one night so I suppose anyone staying longer would have found the sitting area accommodating. The room was very clean. The staff was extremely accommodating - twice retrieving 'lost' items, and even holding onto one we did not discover missing until several days after we had left town. We happened to be in Skiddaw later in the week, and on a chance we stopped by to inquire if they had perhaps found and saved it. They still had the item! This is an item that could easily have been tossed into the trash, not knowing it contained a dental retainer. That item would have been quite expensive to replace! The desk attendant tried to help us locate a taxi for our departing day's journey, but in the end none were available on short notice. Fortunately we discovered a public bus that took us right to the doorstep of our country guesthouse for a fraction of the cost!

We are no longer able to do the hiking that we used to love, but Keswick is a great location to enjoy the beauty of the lakes in a gentler way. Fitz park is lovely and there is live music in the cafe at weekends. Good choice of restaurants, and theatre by the lake has some great productions.

Keswick is a very interesting town, full of great places to eat and drink. Loads of shops that sell just about everything you can imagine. A short walk to Derwent water where you can book a lake cruise or even hire your own small motor launch. A short drive takes you to Grasmere and further along to Windermere, and for the really adventurous there are the magnificent peaks to climb.

    Have always loved Keswick.

Have always loved Keswick. It's a beautiful town in the English Lake District surrounded by amazing scenery, imposing mountains of Skiddaw & Blencathra to the North, Cat Bells to the west & a stunning view south across Derwent Water. Lots of shops to cater for all tastes with two craft breweries & a Wine shop along with Jimmys Cocktail Bar....top tip though these all close at 9pm so get there early.

Stayed 3 nights, and the room while small (as expected) was perfectly functional. It was not advertised as being en-suite but did have its own private bathroom across the hall. Breakfast was amazing, with a range of options - Fruit salad to start followed by a full English seemed the most popular choice and the quality of both was high. A short 10 minute walk into the town centre, with a good range of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, Keswick makes an excellent base to explore the Lake District from.

Friendly and helpful staff, we were leaving before breakfast time and they were very accomodating, providing us with a continental breakfast at an earlier time. The views from the breakfast room are fantastic! We also like our room, modern, great shower and also a nice view. Hotel is also great for parking, they have a decent sized car park at thr back with spacious parking spots..altho we managed to park at the front! The hotel's location is superb, very central to Keswick town centre.
