Beautiful estate home and extremely clean. The furnishings and decor were very comfortable, inviting, and well suited for a historical, well preserved, and very elegant ambiance. We were so relaxed just being here as we enjoyed an evening cocktail (a very good bar selection) and looked out at a most pleasant, wooded view. The breakfast was well prepared, ample, and very nicely presented. The family-based owner was so very pleasant and friendly! We purposely selected this hotel so that we could enjoy Beinn Eighne in the early morning without a long drive (so location is excellent), and after a great sleep and breakfast, we weren't disappointed. We would highly recommend staying here. So glad we didn't stay in busy Inverness!! It was worth the pleasant and short 30 minute drive.

We had the most incredible stay at Torridon House Estate and honestly didn’t want to leave. It was exactly what we needed — peaceful, slow and completely relaxing. Our days were spent on long, quiet walks surrounded by breathtaking scenery, followed by lazy afternoons by the fire with no agenda at all. Evenings soaking in the hot tub under the open sky were something special — total calm, fresh air, and not a care in the world. The place itself is beautifully rustic in the best way. It feels cosy, lived-in and full of character, without trying too hard. Everything encourages you to slow down, switch off and just be present, which is something you don’t realise how much you need until you’re there. If you’re looking to escape the noise, reset properly and enjoy simple pleasures done perfectly, Torridon House Estate is hard to beat. We left feeling rested, refreshed — and have already booked our stay for next year.

We were greeted warmly by our host and given a complete tour of the property. The breakfast was excellent! There was a great variety, and we were even served our meal on the second day of our stay.

This is going to be a little different as far as my Scotland reviews go...The hotel is 160 years old. There are some things that just can't be improved in such an old building. With that said, a little paint and new carpet would be great. But that is not the draw of this hotel. The rooms are small with the smallest TVs I have ever seen in a hotel. But no mind. The pub is the draw. Richard told us when we checked in to come down after we got settled. He introduced us to the pub staff, his wife (Becca), and other hotel guests (hi Bryan and Bridgette). We had an absolutely lovely evening. Drinking, eating dinner, and talking with everyone. That was an experience I would not trade for a bigger room.

What Guests Said About Kinlochewe:

Well equipped garage with bread and other essentials.

Well equipped garage with bread and other essentials. Nice cafe attached. Village store had a good range of products. The Old Hall was a nice place to eat or get a take-out coffee or pizza. Gairloch has a new co-op which was well stocked and the Gale centre was interesting to look round and enjoy a drink or lunch. The Museum at Gairloch was very interesting to visit and had a nice cafe. Good for a wet day, as is Inverewe Garden. Local walks at Flowerdale and round the coast from Annat or Torridon are very nice if you don't want to be on the hills.

For us, selecting The Pines at Kinlochewe was ideal as a well located, self catering, free access accommodation allows the freedom to come and go as one wishes and vary plans around the Scottish Summer weather. Its not a HUB of activity and most restaurants are a car journey away (there was a nice one at Shieldaig). But its a great location for walking and the views (when you can see them) are breathtaking.
