Set in Kirkwhelpington, OYO Knowesgate Hotel features a bar, shared lounge, garden, and free WiFi throughout the property. The beds were very comfy and the rooms were spotless .. food was good but not much choice .. breakfast was good, hot and tasty
Set in Corsenside in the Northumberland region, Rede River Cottage, Hexham features a garden. The accommodations is 27 mi from Morpeth. Literally everything. It was a beautiful place to stay in a rustic and silent environment. 45 min drive to the centre of Newcastle. Shops etc available in a 10 min drive. We will definitely be returning. We came for a wedding will come back for a holiday.
Just half an hour’s drive from the center of the Kielder Forest Park is Yellow House Bed and Breakfast. Beautiful grounds with outstanding view. Wonderful home cooked breakfast with fresh ingredients. Great dog. Excellent host whose gardens are glorious. She also kindly upgraded our room since we were there for two nights and a larger room was available.
I’m sure in the future the new owner will sort out the problems the hotel currently has but until then I can’t rate this property any higher. Unfortunately the boiler is broken down and there is neither hot water or heating. The owner has put fan heaters all round the place but it’s nowhere near the same. In addition the breakfast which looked really good was stone cold. The restaurant has no menu. Howver, it must be emphasised the owner and staff were really friendly, extremely understanding and deserve to succeed. On the plus side the drinks in the bar were good and very reasonable. There is a wood burner in the bar!
Good location for walks etc. Everywhere to eat etc at least 20 minutes drive away. No facilities near by. If you intend getting food etc better off nearer Morpeth or Newcastle. Not really any good for families
The place could do with furniture and decoration update but think maybe not enough visitors to make this viable. The area is very sparse with only a couple of local houses the village itself is a couple of miles from the hotel
We wanted a few days touring Northumberland. We found this hotel, apparently miles from anywhere, but situated on a main road, and perfectly located for touring interesting towns, countryside & Hadrians wall etc.
