Fabulous, my third or fourth stay in Largs and I never get tired of it. Scenery is beautiful, walk along the coast path watching the ferries, and in better weather there's nowhere nicer to have a picnic and watch the sea. Good hourly rail connections to Glasgow, from where the rest of Western Scotland and the UK are easily accessible. Also change at Kilwinning for the Ayr line, which has some lovely seaside resorts too.

A nice town to stay in if you like to be away from the city, and enjoy being by the sea and walks along the waterfront. Only a short ferry trip to the lovely Isle of Bute, good charity shops and pubs, lovely staff in Costa Coffee, friendly locals and a nice train ride to Glasgow.

Largs town itself is a bit run down (but this is like most places on the West coast especially these days).
Limited availability of supermarkets if you need to buy groceries for self catering, but you can get what you need.
I didn't eat out but there did look to be a good selection of different types of eateries, Italian, Chinese, traditional, etc.
Also actually good for doing some shopping. That's not why I was there but was pleasantly surprised by the shops on the Main St leading down to the promenade.
If you are looking for a place to spend a leisurely time and don't need a lot to do apart from go for nice walks and eat ice cream then this is the place for you! And of course if you want you can visit Millport from Largs.
The walk along the promenade in Largs is very pleasant, good for fresh air walks but was very busy with families, dogs etc and this was in Winter, so must be absolutely chocca in Summer.
Also, respect to the people eating ice-cream at 0 degrees celsius - gotta have that in Largs no matter what the weather haha:)
It's also a good place if you want a base to explore more of the wider area because the train station is very central but there is also a bus service which goes to Wemyss Bay, Fairlie, Gourock, Greenock etc, ending up in Glasgow. So you can go exploring:). The bus journey is quite scenic. Bus leaves just outside the train station. (I didn't know this but found out cause all the trains got cancelled:( So good for a back up if nothing else!

My visit to Largs in Scotland was an enchanting experience that left a lasting impression. Nestled along the picturesque coastline, Largs offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, historical charm, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Exploring the town was a delight, with its charming streets lined with quaint shops, cafes, and friendly locals. The scenic promenade, overlooking the Firth of Clyde, provided breathtaking views and a serene ambiance. The iconic Nardini's, an ice cream parlor with a rich history, was a sweet treat not to be missed.
Largs is steeped in history, and a visit to the Vikingar! museum offered fascinating insights into the town's Norse heritage. The renowned Kelburn Castle and Country Centre, adorned with vibrant murals, added a touch of whimsy to the historical landscape.
Nature enthusiasts will appreciate a stroll through the beautifully landscaped Brisbane Glen, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by lush greenery. Additionally, a visit to the nearby Cumbrae Island, easily accessible by ferry, provided an opportunity to soak in more stunning coastal views.
The warmth of the local community was evident everywhere, making me feel right at home. Whether enjoying traditional Scottish fare at local pubs or engaging in friendly conversations with locals, the hospitality was truly heartwarming.
In conclusion, Largs in Scotland is a gem waiting to be discovered. Its blend of natural beauty, historical richness, and friendly locals make it a must-visit destination. I left with fond memories, and I can't wait to return to this Scottish coastal haven

Lovely place to visit and the bed and breakfast the old...
Lovely place to visit and the bed and breakfast the old rectory was amazing place to stay and so relaxing me and my husband were there to stay for 3 nights it was great so we had to stay one more night can’t wait to book again
We stayed overnight and could not have felt more welcome! The rooms were incredibly nice and clean, we really appreciated the small details to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was amazing (!!) and Keith catered a beautiful vegan meal for one of us. He was so friendly, attentive and shared many fun anecdotes with us. We were also given advice for where to eat and what to do in and around Largs. Would love to visit again and will definitely recommend to friends!
A true home from home. The flat is ideally situated, overlooking the sea front, with amazing views. There is ample off-street parking for residents (a real bonus for Largs). The communal area, access stairs etc. is carpeted and clean. The flat itself is a true gem - bigger than expected, nicely decorated and immaculately maintained. It is a welcome, comfortable retreat at the end of a busy day. Everything you could wish for is provided by the hosts.
The food at the Hotel was excellent...the quality, and quantity, perfect.
The location of the Hotel couldn't be better, everything that Largs has to offer, is right on the doorstep.
we've visited Largs many, many times, but this was the first time that I read the information boards dotted around, and was surprised at the History Largs has to offer...so please read the boards.
In the centre of Largs, an easy walk to the pier for paddle steamer 'Waverley' sailings or the Cumbrae ferry and not far from the station. It's not the smartest street in town but once inside the apartment is cosy, quiet and welcoming. We liked the thoughtful items left for us in the fridge and kitchen by the host - much appreciated.
Very spacious flat, very modern and comfortable. Was also very well situated, just a five minute walk from the center. Would recommand when staying in Largs or as a stop-over before Arran ! Very good price for the quality of the accommodation. I was also able to check-in before 3pm and Jason (the host) even picked me up in the center
The house is beautifully decorated and the room very spacious. The woman running the hotel was very friendly, and upon my departure even offered me a lift into town (torrential rain had been falling for hours on end). This, I imagine, isn't always part of the service, but is testament to how kind the lady is.
The staff were helpful and attentive in all areas. Food was excellent. We were even able to take our drinks out onto the patio. And the house manager came up to our room to show us how to open our bedroom windows. The weather was exceptionally sunny and balmy, so the fresh sea air was wonderful
About a mile (20-30 mins walk) north of Largs centre, the location was excellent for the Ayrshire coastal path and an easy drive (c 3 miles) from Largs Marina . The hotel was comfortable, warm & clean, and the food was very good. No need to walk into town for a meal at the end of a tiring day.
Very clean and tidy with lots of amenities in the rooms. Breakfast was lovely and well prepared by the team. The host was very friendly and had a great knowledge of the area with suggestions for us to explore.
Great location in Largs with a small walk right into the centre and train station.
Apartment was spotlessly clean and freshly decorated with quality finishes. There was a fresh loaf, milk, tea and coffee for us when we arrived. Great view, quiet area and a great hub for our weekend ☺️
Spotlessly clean, both the room and the bathroom, spacious room, and warm. Ideal for a economical night in Largs. The beds were very comfortable.Much better than expected and excellent value for money.
Good Position on the main road
Large Car Park ideal for camper size vans
Bus Stop into the centre directly outside the hotel
Breakfast and Evening Meal is very good
Friendly Staff on arrival
