The people of Launceston are champions for their helpfulness and friendly advice, information and general banter. The small independent shops which are treasure troves of exploration. The black cat book shop is great to dip into with the legacy of destiny crystal shop only next door. Two vinyl record shops a small museum and the 16th century St Mary Magdalene carved stone church. We think Launceston was closed for the winter.

The garden was ideal for our elderly dog to wander about safely. It was so lovely and quiet with no light pollution so lots of stars on a clear night. The cottage was bigger than expected and really cosy, a home from home. We live in cornwall, but not in a magical part like Bodmin moor, we would definitely book bowithick cottages again, we love it there. The bar and balcony area were modern and funky, we loved the big gin distillery on display, very Steam Punk! The staff were adorable, especially the girl who seemed to be doing every job, Terri.
