Nice takeaways and shops nearby , free parking , very clean very comfy even had microwave , fridge freezer , smart tv with Netflix , adjustable AC/heating and colored lights for the room , have 0 complaints .

Lovely weather, so walked round the loch (lake) to Linlithgow Peel (Park). Visited the Palace, - birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots, Church & Museum, wonderful. Sampled great coffees, homemade lunches & baking in the several small independent cafes. Took train to Edinburgh and Glasgow, and car to Stirling. So easy and practical.

Plenty of cafes and restaurants in the town. Train service is very good. A visit to Linlithgow Palace is a must and there is a delightful 4km walk around Linlithgow Loch including Linlithgow Palace.

Quiet town, only 2 restaurants available for dinner. Not much to do except for the Linlithgow Palace, which was a must-see location. This town is perfect for a short visit, or if you want to take a book and sit by the loch for an afternoon of relaxation. The hotel was less than a half mile walk from the train station, so the location was very convenient for a short visit from Edinburgh, where we spent most of our vacation. The palace is technically a ruin, but you can climb inside the towers and see all the rooms, guided by a free audio app on your cellphone. This town has manicured garden beds and lots of flowers - very historic and charming.

An old, historic town which has managed to update itself...
An old, historic town which has managed to update itself without losing the charm of it's really quite special old stone buildings, with a number of attractive side streets leading to the loch edge. Plenty coffee shops, gift shops etc, and of course the Palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born. Ready access to the canal, railway and motorway to Stirling and Edinburgh, apart from the many other towns in the area. Too many potential attractions to list here.

A quiet country town, Linlithgow is close enough to Edinburgh for convenience but distant enough to retain a less hectic pace of life. It has excellent communications, a historic centre and a Loch and surrounds of great beauty.

We were looking for basic accommodation after the rugby at Murrayfield. The hostel was a hundred yards from the station and a short journey to Haymarket so was ideal. The Staff couldn't have been more helpful and went the extra mile to make sure we got organised to get in after the rugby. Great rooms, comfy beds and spotlessly clean. We'd definitely use the Linlithgow hostel again.

We loved the room, the location and the view. It is moments away from pubs, restaurants, monuments and the railway, not to mention the lovely canal and loch walks nearby, all of which contributed to our enjoyment of Linlithgow.
