This is an old fashioned hotel with the grandeur and decor of a bygone age.
The rooms are spacious and while of course it could do with a makeover that would maybe just spoil the character and quirkiness of the place. The staff are helpful and pleasant and welcoming to all.
It’s right in the centre of town with all the hustle and bustle you’d expect which adds to the atmosphere.
In short it has a soul and life about it which is rare these days.

The room was tired, looking definitely in need of a renovation..problem with the car parking the QR code was a problem. It's was suspicious, so I went to the reception who came out to have a look redid it but we had to register our car at reception..But on our way home we had a notification that the said car park was trying to take £40 from our bank..luckily our bank stop it but when we got home I called the hotel advised them of potential fraud re the car park Isaid wanted to take this further and was advised a manager was going to be in touch with me ....I'm still waiting for them....we had to call our bank and they cancelled our card and send us a new one ... I will not stay here again...

Location was great for the docks. The view of the Mersey was great. Lovely big room. Staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough.

Firstly the room was so luxurious, spacious and clean. It included smart lighting, which I have never used before but saves walking to turn different lights on. The room had a bath and a shower so there was a nice choice. The staff really looked after me and were so kind. The hotel had a range of bars and a wonderful restaurant.

Newly renovated, had all mod / cons in it. Hannah was very prompt and most helpful with any information that's required.
Easy check in & out process.

Sofa beds are flimsy and most uncomfortable to sit or sleep on.
The bathroom needs a towel rack in it.

The host was great and the apartment was modern and had everything we needed for cooking/cleaning. Mattresses were comfy and all bedding/towels were clean. The pillows weren’t great, they were a lot thicker than what we’re used to.
There was definitely no garden views, we were looking onto an old building which looks due for demolition (see photos). The car Park was dirty.... dog poo and a used condom Right next to the car.
There were no curtains either so if you rely on darkness to get/keep kids asleep this isn’t the apartment for you. It would be fine for adults though and location was good.
