Hotel in Wingham
Set within a Grade II Listed former coaching inn, this award-winning property occupies a prominent position opposite the church in the picturesque village of Wingham, just outside Canterbury. The Dog staff were superb offering exceptional service & there was plenty of room for us to indulge.
A great pub which has it all. Super friendly staff that could not have been more welcoming to us and our dog. Food was delicious and we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Great walks from the pub and beautiful surrounding villages. Will definitely go back soon.
An historical town with several points of interest incluiding a 16th Century church; a tithe barn that is still in use; one store where the postmistress was also the cashier in the store; great footpaths around the village; a short car or bus ride to Canterbury; in short, we loved it!
Pretty quaint villages, pubs and walks close by. We stayed in Ickham at the excellent Duke William pub. Played golf at Royal St George’s one day and had dinner in Canterbury at the superb Cafe du Soleil, very popular, reservations necessary.
Our stay was brilliant the owner and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful the room was spotless and comfortable with great facilities, the food in the restaurant was lovely as was the breakfast, you’d be hard pushed to find better value for money anywhere
A last minute booking, due to an injury, which meant not being able to continue our journey. What we didn't like was not being able to take full advantage of the place. We will return when we are better, and take full advantage of all that is on offer. They all made sure we could rest and recouparate as best as we could. THANK YOU does not seem enough
A lovely village straddling a busy commuter route to and from Canterbury. However the welcome was warm and people friendly. A small local shop and good food available at The Evenhill. Very quiet and very dark once the sun goes down. We ate twice at The Evenhill very nice well priced. Bus stop right opposite The Pilgrim's Rest. Regular bus service if you didn't want to drive. Lots of winding country roads to explore and numerous farm shops. Easy access to the coast and in to Canterbury itself. Would highly recommend this place for a few quiet days or even just one night. Molly the Border Terrier is extremely friendly and loves meeting new people. We would definitely go back but not in room 2. A view of rooftops and a constant humming would have me asking for a different room.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is in a very cute little village not far from Canterbury and Margate. We were able to take the bus into Canterbury. Pub food and the breakfast were really good.
