I loved the room, and the proximity to Anfield. There is a cafe and a bar right next door. My room was gorgeous, bed was very comfortable and the bath was immaculate. Building is less than 5 minute walk to Anfield park. I particularly enjoyed watching fans get to the game and stream out of the park. Hotel staff accommodated my bags after check out and went to the game. I really appreciated that. City centre is about 10 minute drive or 15 minute bus ride away

I was born here in 1945; it was a grey, grim city not recovered from the war. Since then , what the city has done is remarkable. Easy walkable shopping. Many buildings cleaned/restored. Albert Dock is excellent. Eating options very good. Highly recommend the Hop On/Hop Off bus. The weather is more or less the same - sorry!

A Unesco centre with history of world famous musicians,...

A Unesco centre with history of world famous musicians, naval heroes, entertainers and magnificent buildings -some from the history of shipping and industrial businesses and many modern architectural works of art- Museums by the dockside in addition to the Library, Cathedrals , Theatres,Art Galleries, Football stadiums and Universities. The Fabulous Beatles history- is brilliantly accessible through the Red bus trips(excellent musical guide and friendly driver teams) Sgt Pepper pub and Cavern- offer great live music- in Mathew Street. There are many cafes/ pubs/restaurants spread through the centre of town so much choice for variety of food /cost / quality live music. We visited the Daffodil boat - early evening drink and small plates. We also went to the Ivy to eat and the Castle Street Townhouse for drink and great live band. The River cruise and 3 cathedrals ,St George's Hall and library are inspiring. We all loved our brief visit -so much to do!

    Parking is very expensive.

Parking is very expensive. Try to use local transport and do the City and Beatles Tour with Joe and Tommy - excellent. If in the Anfield area try the Cabbage Hall Restaurant where we had good pub food including Scouse at a reasonable price. I especially liked their Blue Cheese Sauce on my steak.

    Liverpool was a surprise.

Liverpool was a surprise. It has a good vibe, and there is plenty to see and do. The trip on the ferry was excellent though the weather helped. The water front is lovely. The people of Liverpool were friendly and helpful. The map given by the hotel, also available from the tourist office was excellent.

I did the Beatles tour, and the Liverpool wheel.

I did the Beatles tour, and the Liverpool wheel. I visited some recent veggie cafes too, the Egg cafe and the Vibe. I would of liked to of gone to more markets , the vintage market but didn't have time. I probably could've staged two nights instead of one.

Lovely hotel situated next door to the Philharmonic Pub. Within a 15 min walk to the city centre and the Albert Docks but if you don’t want the walk then the buses are very regular and bus stop close by. Hotel was very clean and beautiful room (deluxe double with spa jacuzzi). Issue with no hand soap but quickly resolved by staff. Not cheap and would have got a 9 if breakfast was included in price 😊
