Llangammarch Wells
Set in 50-acre grounds The Lake Country House Hotel & Spa lies in the heart of the Welsh countryside. With private bathrooms it also features a swimming pool and sauna. The food at dinner was exceptionally good - high end restaurant standard. The hotel was a characterful Victorian house, nestled in a quiet, green valley. Meanwhile the spa facilities seemed brand new. The staff were very friendly and there is a homely atmosphere. In the room, the wifi and the smart TV apps (iPlayer, Netflix etc) worked well.

Warm, friendly welcome by the hosts. Beautiful setting. Weather was beautiful for October, but would be amazing to sit out in the summer and watch the red Kites soaring around above, instead of through the window. A true haven for an avid bird watcher.

Lovely hotel in a great location, staff were fantastic, home cooked food was lovely, breakfast was good and all very reasonably valued, and the hotel has some interesting history.
Duvets too hot! Brecon Cathedral very interesting, we were allowed to take our dogs inside. Tour guide if required, some nice walks around the town. The Beacons breathtaking, we saw wild Welsh ponies, one or two nice pubs. Plenty to do at hotel if you wanted a 'car free' day, maybe next time we bring our riding kit & tennis racquets. Definitely enjoyed a swim before breakfast.
The hotel is very relaxed and the staff were excellent. Spa treatments were very relaxing and the leisure facilities were just what I needed. I walked around the lake which was very nice. The aim of the break for me was to relax and that is exactly what I did.
Lovely quiet location. Stunning scenery and grounds. Beautiful hotel and lovely staff. Breakfast was fabulous but evening meal choices a little limited. A walk in shower was requested due to problems with arthritis but this was not forthcoming so disappointing as my elderly mother struggled with the bath. I had made a point of discussing this with the staff at the hotel before paying so a little frustrating.
There is nothing about this hotel and it's staff to dislike. it is so peaceful there and the grounds are beautiful. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and during dinner they were attentive but not intrusive. The food is of a very high standard and beautifully presented. Plenty to eat at breakfast and a good choice of cooked food. Our suite, The Cambrian, was very spacious and comfortable with lovely views over the garden. Very nice spa quality toiletries in the bathroom. Spa facilities are excellent with a good sized swimming pool and a lovely hot tub on an open terrace. There is also a small gym, sauna and steam room.

Comfortable places to relax in beautiful, leafy surroundings. Food was excellent. Really helpful reception staff, particularly the gentleman who greeted us on arrival and then made excellent wine suggestions. Hotel adapted well to Covid. Would recommend a walk around the Lake through the woods.
