Set in Lochinver in the Highlands region, with White Shore Beach nearby, Bonnie Haven offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Kirsteen was a fabulous host and so sweet and helpful. She included a lovely honeymoon gift for us which was so nice! she was also a dear and let me borrow her mother’s sewing kit when I needed to mend the strap on my bag. The room was clean, comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was a wonderful spread of pastries, fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, juices, etc. The view from the property can’t be beat. And we loved seeing the deer visit the property next door both days. Would love to stay again!

Positioned in a fantastic location on the north west coast, it stands out for the fantastic and warm ospitality and for the great atmosphere. Very clean and comfortable, it’s what we needed after a few hundred miles on a motorbike. A perfect place.

Colin was a great host. The place was really clean and comfortable. The views were outstanding. We paid a little extra to use the hot tub which was a great way to spend the night. Id definitely stay again.
Tarradh cabins is situated in Lochinver. Each unit offers a fully equipped kitchenette, a flat-screen TV, a living room, and a private bathroom. Guests can also relax in the garden. The cabin itself was lovely and cosy. We stayed here as part of the nc500 and was nice to put our feet up. Wish we had longer here to enjoy!! The host was lovely also :)
Located in the North West Highland Geopark, Davar offers well-appointed en suite rooms and stunning views of Loch Inver. There is free parking and WiFi, and a menu of freshly cooked breakfasts. Davar was exceptional in every aspect; Caren and Dave went out of their way to meet our every need. The house is comfortable and beautifully decorated, and Dave's knowledge of the area's history and attractions added so much to our short stay. What a perfect place for exploring the spectacular countryside!
The Hideaway is set in Lochinver and offers a garden and a terrace. With views over Lochinver Bay over to the Assynt mountain range, this accommodation features a patio. We were here for two nights for my partners birthday and can honestly say it was amazing! Would highly recommend the hideaway! .. the area is gorgeous with good walks etc round about you! .. we had our dog as well who loved the clear water! Overall can’t wait to go back!!
4 Wheelhouse Apartment is located in Lochinver. The apartment also offers 1 bathroom. Fishing can be enjoyed nearby. Ullapool is 28 km from the apartment. The apartment was quite a pleasant surprise, as the entrance was quite industrial / utilitarian.. The self entry lock was a great idea..
Located in Lochinver in the Highlands region, Suilven view features a balcony and garden views. Situated 1.2 km from White Shore Beach, the property features a garden and free private parking. The pod is absolutely perfect has everything you need to enjoy your stay including an ice machine! The views are incredible and to be able to enjoy them while outside in winter in a hot tub doesn’t get much better. Kitchenette has tea, coffee and milk available so no need to buy your own for a nights stay. Heating easy to use and warms the pod very quickly. Towels and robes clean and saves you bringing your own either. Scrabble and chess kept under a very comfortable bed. Can’t speak highly enough of this place.
Amazing countryside with stags by the roadside and the Northern Lights dancing across the night sky. Wonderful Ardmore House with amazingly comfortable bed and cozy lounge with log burner and TV with Netflix. Excellent food, out of this world breakfast with local smoked salmon to haggis and porridge to granola, and endless fresh brewed coffee. Kylesku Hotel restaurant with local produce presented to a truly high standard .
The Assynt area is one of the most beautiful in Scotland, a long-term favourite of ours. But the NC500 has ruined it for anyone who likes peace and restful experiences. Motor homes are everywhere, often in convoys along the narrow, single-track roads - and of course the drivers don't know how to reverse with the skill needed for this, as they mostly hire them in Inverness or Edinburgh, so they just barge cars back to a distant passing place. Every beach has cars parked along the road by it, every "campsite" is full of mobile homes and caravans - and this was in October. This must be highly profitable for rental agencies in distant cities, but does little to help the Assynt community (which is still declining: almost all the new building is for self-catering rent, not residents), and will obviously put off the sort of tourists the area used to attract, those keen on nature and wilderness. We sympathised with the "Stop the NC500" posters we noticed.
Had a really nice time. The guest house we stayed in must be the nicest in all of Lochinver. Stunning views and amazing service throughout. Had to leave early on the last morning for our long drive back - so never got to say thank you to the gentleman in charge - so THANK YOU SO MUCH - if you are reading this! Just be aware that there are not that many places to eat and drink, so you really do need to book ahead.
First stop was Highland Stoneware, congratulations to David Grant and his team, excellent! Can also recommend Peet’s Restaurant, good food and a very friendly team. The local scenery was spectacular, bear in mind still only March! Certainly worth driving up and down the coast.
As a photographer the landscape is like disneyland for photographers with endless photo opportunities. I will definitely go back but for much longer next time, no less than a week next time. The beautiful beaches make you forget your in Scotland, and of course the spectacular Clashnessie Falls! If you like to see real Scotland you won't be disappointed in Assynt.
I stayed one night and even though I had trouble finding the place thanks to google, Steven cake and met me right away. He invited me to dinner and we had a fantastic evening of food, drink, music and discussion. He gave me all the local info I needed to continue my journey and even cooked me a delicious breakfast in the morning. I got out of the shower and a French press appeared. I had mentioned I like coffee and he was listening... room is clean and tidy and it’s a shared bathroom downstairs. There is not much happening in the town, and the tavern near by was not a great place at all. I would plan on cooking in the kitchen and bring your own drinks. Overall an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this place. You need a car!
