The accommodation was fresh clean bright and airy, with a great view of the sea, we had our own entrance with a key into the Inn, the staff were all great, chatty polite and couldn't do enough to make sure you had everything you wanted, a real credit to the management and the staff themselves, food was good, well cooked and served hot and quick too, we also had breakfast which was excellent. We stayed at a very busy time during a heatwave, so the pub was busy, but it all ran smoothly.. well done Lulworth Cove inn.. our dog loved it too.
Fantastic natural cove. World class. Wonderful but very hilly walk to the famous Durdle Door rock arch along the coast. Great base to go either east to Poole or west to Weymouth and Lyme Regis if you have the time.
Lovely setting for a short break. Although perhaps Bank holidays and the height of summer might be overrun with visitors. Also a pair of sturdy pair of walking shoes would be advisable as beach is stoney and walk to Durdle Door has loose chalk on it which might be slippery when wet. Definitely worth the climb for the views and the magnificence of the place.
We were only passing through and stayed one night only but we had a lovely bright quirky room. Big comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was fab and the price included a lovely breakfast. Free parking in the public car park a real bonus. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
Very pretty and a cove that has relatively warm water! it is shingle so not easy for striding along, but picturesque it certainly is. walking up the steep cliffs gives a wonderful view on a clear day. I was there in early May so it was quite quiet but can imagine it gets a bit crowded during the season.
Ideal for exploring Lulworth Cove, Dungy Head and then hiking up to the Durdle Door coastal path and finally stopping for coffee at the Smuggler's Inn (stunning thatched roof Inn). Bring a pair of proper hiking shoes as the ground is very slippery (really!). Also, some water and maybe a hat as it can get very windy.
