It looks like it’s just been refurbished to a high standard. Food has very generous portions. The full English breakfast was excellent.

This hotel is not in Macclesfield but is convenient for it. It is even more convenient for Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Prestbury and Knutsford. Handy for Lyme Park, Quarry Bank and several other stately homes open later in the year.
The area is beautiful and calming, there are some lovely walks and Shrigley Hall Hotel have a good informative leaflet describing how to complete the walks, the length of them etc. If we go back would love to explore further
Very pleasant Town centre with useful shops and eateries. I thoroughly recommend the 'Namaste' Indian restaurant. My friend and I had a superb meal at very reasonable price. BUT ! Beware the hills.
Macclesfield is a busy, lively town with plenty of coffee shops and decent restaurants. The station allows great access to Manchester (20 mins). Canal and river walks can be accessed from the centre of the town but could do with sign posting.
We only stayed here to break journey coming up from South Wales. Shops ok, not many pub/resturants in town for eating. Highlight is location on the edge of Peak District for walking. Macclesfield Forest/Resiviour very nice.
Macclesfield is an old market town, which has been slightly spoilt by modern developments and major roads cutting through, but the old centre with St Michael's Church still has charm, and there's a museum which celebrates the town's silk heritage. Macclesfield is set between the peak district and the lush Cheshire plain, and there are wonderful country walks within a short driving distance. The Tegg's Nose Country Park is a beautiful relaxing country space. The Macclesfield canal offers beautiful towpath walks, as does the Middlewood Way at Bollington, the track of the old railway line. There are attractive villages to visit, such as Prestbury and Gawsworth. Several stately homes are within driving distance, and Manchester with its shops, theatre, concerts is a short train ride away.
The setting is wonderful and the entrance hall is beautiful. They are dog friendly which is why we picked to stay there and we were allowed to bring him to the bar which was lovely but not the restaurant but the bar was lovely and we had food there (£15 pizza) and the staff were very friendly. There was a really nice singer on keyboard in the bar to keep us entertained...he was very good. The spa area is nice in parts. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast and coffee were really good.
Fabulous location, Great views over Bollington & Cheshire. Amazing Hotel Great Staff and Service. Very accommodating and Dog Friendly. Had a Fantastic Family Day set against warm and cozy atmosphere with a little help from crackling log fires in the lounge.
Great base for business and pleasure alike. Really comfortable home from home and Tele is a welcoming host. Fantastic range for breakfast - the fresh croissant were a real treat. Will definately book again next time business takes me to Macclesfield :-)
amazing views... perfect pool area with outside jacuzzi and stone bath.. steam room was nice.. sauna also. Staff were kind and assertive.. food was also nice. Room very clean and price to stay over for the night (room price) was well worth it.
Beautifully furnished flat right near the centre of Macclesfield. Nice touches including milk left in fridge and freshly ground coffee.Comfortable bed and everything sparkling clean. James was quick to reply when making arrangements.
The owners were very personable and indeed cared about making sure i was taken care of. Mina, the wife chatted about how they were planning to make changes and improve the hotel which they purchased onlyb4 months ago.
Spacious apartment, well equipped kitchen, very clean and tidy, within easy walking distance of Macclesfield town centre, shops and restaurants. Secure parking right outside. Very helpful owner.
The hotel and bar area were furnished very nicely. Staff were excellent, very welcoming, allowing to let me have breakfast after I turned up late and helping us book taxis.
The area is great, 2 minutes from superb canal walks and less than 10 minutes walk to town centre. House had it's own parking space and outside area.
Friendly staff and easy communication with the owner. I would recommend to anyone visiting Macclesfield.
I am familiar with the area and found Legh Arms comfortable friendly and convenient.
