The Tytherington, hotel in Macclesfield

Featuring a bar and a tennis court, The Tytherington is located in Macclesfield, 7.4 miles from Capesthorne Hall and 12 miles from Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens.

I really liked the facilities, especially being able to use the spa and the gym (very well equipped) included in the price of the stay. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and Elemis toiletries. Very close to the Peak District so a perfect location to many walks.

Macclesfield has a real personality, history and character.

Macclesfield has a real personality, history and character. One Sunday a month they have the Treacle Market, but it was cancelled due to Storm Bert. The silk museum was also closed, which was disappointing, so it could be worth another trip. We were only there overnight but felt a really pleasant vibe. It's set in a hilly landscape, and you are constantly reminded of this when looking around as you walk round town. Stunning.

We lived in Macclesfield over 18 years ago, and got married there, so this was a nostalgic trip. The town has become quite trendy in the intervening years with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Good to see some of the old stalwarts such as the Waters Green Tavern are still there and refusing to become even the slightest bit trendy!

A good base to visit Peak District.

A good base to visit Peak District. Shopping centre in decline. Local bus services in decline but possible to reach Hayfield and Buxton. Plus very good train service to Manchester, London, Birmingham etc. Some good eateries - especially excellent Plums Kitchen.

I like Macclesfield because it is a pretty town with good links to Manchester if you need the big city, the Peak District if you like walking, and Buxton if you want a bit of culture. The town is of a manageable size with pretty parks, and it has various small events going on in the local pubs, plus each month there is the Treacle Market, which is a popular feature of Macclesfield.

I came for the silk museum and the Paradise Mill which I can recommend both. The Treacle Market on the last Sunday of the month was a good experience. The weather was sunny, but often was a chill strong wind, I missed a hat. It takes only 30 minutes to travel by train to Manchester, and about 2 hours to London. There are good restaurants and pubs! There are many places to take a nice walk in the nature of the surrounding area, but unfortunately I had to postpone them.

A nice small town centre, a good choice of eateries & cafes, A couple of good ladies boutiques along with a lovely shop Rocco selling stylish boots & trainers. The Tytherington hotel is well worth a stay as they have a good Spa & pool. Another small hotel nearby is BoHotel & eatery, lovely. Free car parking available for the town centre too.

Lovely cosy cottage. The owners had left coffee, tea, milk, sugar, biscuits and tea cakes which was a really nice touch. The views from the back of property is lovely. The cottage was immaculately clean and smelt amazing. Bed was really comfortable and pillows were perfect for me. My favourite thing was the log burner. Just a lovely chilled weekend. We went to a concert in Manchester the first night and it was very expensive to stay in Manchester, so we stayed in Macclesfield and I'm glad we did. A little gem

The hotel had an unusual but tasteful style to it which suited the surrounding area. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was spotlessly clean. The was lots of information about local places to eat and spend time. Laura was on hand at anytime by phone but thankfully everything was perfect so I didn't need to contact her.

The location is great, literally 6 minutes away from Macclesfield town centre. The room was beautiful. The Spa & pool are lovely, We have stayed at the Tytherington before, however last year the breakfast wasn’t very good, waiting for sausages etc. We had breakfast out this time.
