The Shoe Box cottage with allocated parking is set in Malmesbury. The accommodations is 28 mi from Cheltenham. I booked The Shoe Box for my daughter who lives alone, for a COVID 19, socially distanced (not in our house in Malmesbury) birthday. She really appreciated the breakfast and supplies left for her, the welcoming lights and warm house. She said the Shoe Box was very lovely, the bed was comfortable and it felt like home. It was November. We were able to meet outside for walks and coffees and open air birthday celebrations. Thank you so much for giving her a perfect stay to remember.

Malmesbury is an intriguing town full of ancient history, for foodies, head for the Birdcage Restaurant in the centre of town opposite the market square. The artisan pizza is out of this world too, like the Abbey House Gardens!
Really nice quiet village, perfect if your not willing to pay Cotswold's prices! Nice walks around the area and looks of food options. We had takeaway pizzas from the Birdcage which were 10/10! Also had an Indian too, very well priced. Tried a few of the pubs which were all dog friendly and clean etc. Great location overall. Would recommend staying for a couple of nights only.
Not a great deal in Malmesbury apart from Abbey and Abbey House Gardens. Two great places to eat, if you fancy pizza then there is the bird cage, and La Campagna Italian restaurant both highly recommended! God location for excursions and walks.
We went to visit family, The Abbey is beautiful, there are some lovely buildings in Malmesbury and a lot of history. Very nice place, and a good location for visiting the surrounding area. Brinkworth the longest village, Longleat, Royal Wooton Bassett, Cheddar , Bath,
A lovely village, we were told it is the oldest village in England. You can tell most of the houses are still the original limestone house built before spirit levels were designed! Newer houses in the area are also built using limestone/limestone looking bricks, assuming this is part of planning permission but keeps the character of the village/area. La Campagna italian really nice.
A lovely place to visit. The grounds of Abbey Gardens are so beautiful. Visit England's oldest hotel The Old Bell Hotel which is next to Malmesbury Abbey, also worth a look inside. We had a lovely meal at the Italian Restaurant The Birdcage which is a 2 minute walk from Abbey Gardens. Good value for money and lovely food.
Food, service, comfort of rooms , history the whole shebang
