Set in a magnificent Victorian building, Britannia Hotel is just 10 minutes' walk from Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station. With WiFi, the hotel is 1 mile from Manchester Cathedral. The room was quite big with a breathtaking view. I liked the fact that they also put a kettle with English breakfast tea available. The hotel itself was definetely huge and the first thing that strikes your attention when you come in, is the gorgeous chandelier. The facility is absolutely charming and well located ( there are restaurants, bars and other shops all around). The staff was professional and always willing to answer any question.

The room was extremely clean. The best thing about the place is the staff, extremely friendly and nice and helped me whenever I needed anything. Any issue I had they would be very responding and helpful to the best that they can. I loved this place. It was 30 seconds away from Piccadilly metro station which made it easy to navigate. Directly on the opposite side I had great selection of restaurants and supermarket and I could easily go and get what I want and come back. They also had a great waiting area downstairs for those who want to work or use their laptops with many tables and chairs and also they had on another side a bar for those who want to drink something.

Attended Gladys Knight concert at the Apollo. Bar charges exceptionally high. £18 for two drinks an outrage. Apollo in need of revamp ASAP. Left at 10.30 to go to city centre to perhaps have something to eat and a drink however found most establishments had or were closing. Greatly surprised as a Saturday night. Bumped into some very drunk and offensive young men. Went home on the last bus after buying a sandwich in the Spar by the bus stop. Visited the Arndale on the Sunday which was pleasant enough but could have been anywhere else in the UK. The city of my partners birth but won't be rushing back and won't be using the Diamond Lodge.
If you like walking canals this is a good spot. You can easily walk into central Manchester down the Bridgewater/Rochdale canal, getting to Oxford road in ~45mins. If you want to walk further head for Piccadilly station and then pick up the canal that goes up to the Etihad, Droylesden or even Ashton. The tram can be used if you get tired. The Quays themselves are attractive.
We loved the general cleanliness of the city, and how vintage is integrated with modern. Restaurants and self-help food venues are plentiful & varied. It is very easy to get around in Manchester, with many choices of modes of travel. People are generally helpful and approachable.
Manchester is awful. We were nearly robbed 5 minutes after leaving the hotel. The area is dirty and we felt unsafe. The Trafford Centre is a great shopping centre and easy to get to on the tram. But 2 days was too long in Manchester.
We were I Manchester before 13 years and I loved it. Now everywhere, most of the roads are closed, builders and road workers….I feel like they want to build new Manchester. I like the old one, that I remember 13 years ago.
Manchester is a lovely city, great architecture, great history, great nightlife & great shopping. The only thing that spoiled it was football crowds on day leaving man city had won the premier league but still had 1 game to play, all pubs in Piccadilly were loud & overflowing with chanting football fans was police watching & vans everywhere. Was intimidating
Kevin, the Manager was very helpful and friendly with a cheery disposition. We had some great conversation with him regarding our shared passion for travel. Piccadilli Central Hotel has a nice personal feel which comes as a refreshing change when compared with the more corporate establishments that abound in Manchester City centre. You are really treated as a genuine guest here. Rooms are well decorated and offer outstanding value for money compared to other establishments nearby. Thank you, Kevin from Janet and Roy.
Great Wee old school Hotel very close to every amenities in Manchester City Centre only 5 mins from the Arena , great cumfy beds , very close to Arena , Tram Station and Shopping Centres ect so great for shopping ect...great Breakfast Available for great price if you've stayed a night at The Mitre Hotel , nice Wee Quiet Bar if your looking to sit for a few jars ( but pricey ) even with the 25% discount if your staying at Hotel for a Night .
The bar under the hotel hadd one of the best DJs I've ever heard! It sounded amazing! Don't stay here if you. Go too bed early, music bang's through the hotel like Jordan does husband's , I absolutely loved it, staff was friendly, bed was comfy, had a great view of any fights kicked off too,, I ould recommend this. Hotel to any party animal! Get some gear and enjoy Manchester like it's a 110/10 viva Street bird
Great hotel with a car park attached which was very convenient given the proximity to Manchester - most hotels don’t have car parks in the city centre. Booked a room with no windows (best value) but when we checked in they had put us in a large room with windows. Really clean and comfortable, gorgeous bathroom, great value for money. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Stylish hotel with a feeling of grandeur and plenty of quirky touches. It makes the most of the building's quirky and historic features and also celebrates Manchester's industrial heritage. The bar is a great place to hang out and a destination in itself. Located opposite Oxford Road station and handy for the city centre.
we chose this hotel for the free breakfast and ease of parking.. it was near to Old Trafford area and easy for us to make it a base while visiting around Manchester area and Liverpool.. we used the tram (walking distance) to get to the city centre which was also convenient.. rooms were clean and adequate.. nice quiet area
Great location. 7 minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly. Lots of shops, cafes nearby. Lots of tourist attractions nearby. Good, modern design of hotel and rooms. Room has all the necessary. USB sockets in the room. Good Wi-Fi. Good breakfast.
The hotel in the centre of Manchester, so a great location. Couple of issues with my room, there was a bit of a smell and there was no window in the main bedroom. For the price it was ideal for my needs.
Very friendly staff..clean hotel and room everything you need..breakfast lovely choice this is the second time we have stopped here and will definitely stop again next time we come to Manchester 😁👍
Location is great for Manchester Centre, room was a good size and was quiet for a city centre-ish location. Staff were great. Breakfast was okay, pretty standard fair for this type of hotel.
Very central, close to the city centre, and walking distance to Manchester University. The hotel building is really cool (amazing staircase) but quite run down. Close to the main station.
Excellent location in the heart of Manchester. Clean and comfortable hotel room. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The lobby and bar area are stylish.
Awesome hotel, great location, one of my favorite hotels in Manchester. Staff is cool, breakfast is very good, and everything is within walking distance.
Clean, modern hotel with excellent facilities that is easy to reach from Manchester City centre. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Free parking.
The hotel was ideally placed a short walk from Manchester City centre. Overall the hotel was well presented with friendly staff.
