Hotel Gotham 5 stars

Hotel in Manchester City Centre, Manchester

Located in the centre of Manchester, Hotel Gotham is a 3-minute walk from Manchester Arndale Shopping Centre. It offers a rooftop terrace and free WiFi. The hotel was excellent all around, the theming of 50s NYC chic almost goes too far but there is a sense of humour in the theming that totally suits it. Gorgeous large bathroom, perfect for getting ready for an event. The top floor bar is an excellent spot to sit and look out at the city. Had a bloody mary that was perhaps the best I've ever had.

Hotel Football, Old Trafford, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel 4 stars

Hotel in Old Trafford, Manchester

Hotel Football, Old Trafford, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel is located opposite Old Trafford Football Stadium and close to Media City and Manchester City Centre. Free WiFi access is available. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was great. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and seemed to enjoy their work environment. I am a big fan of Man Utd, and since I have lived and worked in Asia as a UK Expat, I rarely get the chance to visit Old Trafford, so being so near was fantastic to walk across and visit the United Shop and see the stadium from the room.

The Capital of the North

With an industrial past and a modern outlook, the complex fabric of Manchester is interlaced with interesting museums, English pubs and shopping centres.

Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.

Manchester wouldn’t be the same without its 2 famous football clubs and fans can go wild at either of the Old Trafford or City of Manchester Stadiums. Music fans will adore the many shows performed at the Manchester Arena, the largest of its type in Europe, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.
