Manchester is a very nice and diverse city. The city is vibrant beautiful places to see good restaurants and nice hotels but please STAY AWAY FROM THE MERCHANTS HOTEL. 1355 people rated it below the expected level. THE HOTEL ROOMS ARE NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.
Enjoyed walking around the university. Delicious pub across the street from the hotel. Name: Revolution. Easy to get around. We walked everywhere. Hotel had umbrellas we could use ! The Royal Exchange Theatre was unbelievable. Saw a wonderful and very intense production, and I do mean INTENSE! Called "Parliament Square ". Whew!
We didn’t sample Manchester really, just came to meet friends from Norway before they flew home. We met for a drink (in the local pub) and a meal in the hotel. All we did was walk from Piccadilly station to the hotel and back.
I love Manchester and spend most weekends here frequenting the nightlife and shopping. Access and transport is good although watch yourself on those roads - follow the signs or make split second decisions and ensure you do not end up in a bus lane on Portland Street.
Town centre was amazing lots to do and see fantastic for shopping stores such as Selfridges, Harvey Nicks and all the designer shops lovely places to eat and drink. Uber taxi's very fair in pricing and lovely polite drivers.
Great City- my granddaughtr is due to start Uni in Sept Loved The Albert Schloss cocktail hour vibe / Midland Hotel cocktails -/ TurtleBay to eat / Westherspoons breakfast We used the Free Bus to get around - was Brilliant Vibrant City- we loved it !!
One of the coolest and beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in! Completely unique architecture with a great history. The grand entrance with glass ceiling and large architectural details make it hard not to look up in awe. Its just awesome. The staff ( especially Kate!!!!) were kind, and helpful and friendly. I wanted to have a beer with Kate- she was genuinely a terrific person. Manchester is a great town and my daughter and I enjoyed every minute. Would love to go back.
I didn't do much research on the hotel as it was a last minute booking but i feel that we got very lucky with the random selection. The whole concept/theme of the hotel is fantastic and it's delivered to a really high degree of quality, escpecially considering the reasonable price point. Bonus - the great staff make it feel like your staying in a hotel 10x the cost. Hotel Brooklyn will be my 1st choice should i stay over in Manchester with my wife again.
I really liked the staff who were friendly and helpful. Overall for the price, the room had great facilities and a really comfy bed which was all I really needed! I would probably have been happy to stay there for more than one night. For my business in Manchester, the hotel was ideally located just a short walk from the station and town centre. You can also text to order from a menu, seemingly all hours - which again was basic, but reasonably priced and tasty food.
The location of the Maldron Hotel Manchester City Centre was perfect for the event I was attending. Right in the middle of the action. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly, despite also having to deal with a party of visitors whose rooms weren't ready yet. The room was comfortable, quiet, and a very pleasant temperature. I was really impressed with the whole experience.
Room was nice and clean. Hotel has a bar so quite convenient to grab a quick drink. Location is fabulous as it is within walking distance to many things. Good way to explore Manchester City Centre (hence why we picked this place). Hotel’s car park was full so we left our car at a nearby public car park (a short walk from hotel). No issues.
First time we stayed at the hotel which was very clean and comfortable. The staff were both polite helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one. Ideal location for Piccadilly rail station and the Arena venue we would certainly use this hotel again when staying over on Manchester city centre
This was the coolest hotel we stayed at across our trip of Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and it had great upgrades that fit perfectly into this older hotel which was Manchester's original Stock Exchange. It was wonderful and memorable and really comfortable.
Salford, Manchester
The hotel is in the midst of an area of new construction. The view of the Manchester Cathedral is stunning and close by. It's walkable to many other areas of the city too. The room and facilities were well provided and if the location made sense I would consider staying again.
hi we liked the fact that it was on the top floor at the end which meant it was quiet it was in easy reach of the city centre and had a tram stop within 50m ideal for exploring Manchester if you are on a budget staff were helpful and answered all our hotel related questions
It's the best hotel I've stayed in in Manchester. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfy rooms with all the facilities you need, a comfy nights sleep and fantastic breakfast. Couldn't ask for more and will definitely stay here again.
The hotel staff were all very friendly, helpful and efficient. The reception area looked very nice and the ability to park right outside the hotel was excellent for a city centre hotel. The location was great for visiting the Manchester Opera house.
Hotel was perfect re location. Very close to First Street and a short walk from city centre. Hotel is basic but nice. Staff were lovely and the food in the bar was amazing. Slightly overpriced but it’s central Manchester.
Manchester
The location was perfect for Manchester City centre, just a short 20/25 min walk to the Arena or Printworks. Pleasantly surprised by the hotel itself after reading some horror reviews. Free parking a huge bonus.
Friendly staff and great value for money. Great location so close to city centre - train station next to hotel that gets you to Manchester Piccadilly in less than 10 minutes. Quiet location as well.
Very central, close to the city centre, and walking distance to Manchester University. The hotel building is really cool (amazing staircase) but quite run down. Close to the main station.
Friendly and helpful staff. Parking lots right in front of the hotel, which is located within walking distance from Manchester city centre.
The location of the hotel was brilliant! Only took us 10 minutes in a Uber to get to the center of Manchester for the bars and restaurants.
The hotel is an icon of Manchester and perfect location for everything from restaurants, bars, shopping & transport links.
It’s just fabulous from the moment you arrive - staff, service, food, drinks, ambience!! The BEST hotel in Manchester❤️
-bathroom and rainfall shower -decor and furnishings -quiet -comfy bed
