FAQs about hotels in Manchester

The Capital of the North

With an industrial past and a modern outlook, the complex fabric of Manchester is interlaced with interesting museums, English pubs and shopping centres.

Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.

Manchester wouldn’t be the same without its 2 famous football clubs and fans can go wild at either of the Old Trafford or City of Manchester Stadiums. Music fans will adore the many shows performed at the Manchester Arena, the largest of its type in Europe, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.

Whether you’re flying into Manchester International Airport for business or partying in one of the 500 bars in city, Booking.com’s hotels and apartments can match your accommodation needs.

    I love Manchester.

I love Manchester. The architecture is brilliant and the people are so lovely. The food scene is incredible and you will never go hungry. It is overwhelming at times trying to find a place to eat because there’s just so much! I love the redevelopment it’s had in recent years but it still has the character of before.

I like the pace and the people seem alot more easy-going than Londoners. Overall, a good experience. The Peoples museum was very interesting and the historical church next to the hotel. Very beautiful. We had dinner on the ground floor. Yes it is easy getting around when walking, which was ideal. parking was annoying, but once figured out all was OK.

Manchester is fast becoming the capitol of the North!

Manchester is fast becoming the capitol of the North! Fabulous architecture, old and new, lots of amazing food options and world class venues. Top recommendations Imperial War Museum North, Manchester Art Gallery, the Northern Quarter for cool shops and independent eateries, Castlefields walk for a sense of the Industrial past, Chinatown, and of course two world class football stadiums( well one!!!)

There was nothing I didn't like.

There was nothing I didn't like. I loved travelling by tram, bus, train and on foot to see museums and art galleries and MediaCity. As I was on my own I preferred to eat breakfast and supper in my apartment. Getting around Manchester is easy, it's compact and Google Maps even tells you when the next tram/bus is coming and where to get on it.

Manchester centre seemed quite clean, not too many people asking for spare change. (I did have to go to a shop for some cash) People seemed friendly and I felt safe walking around at night. If you want a city break somewhere other than "That London" then this will do!

Manchester is a fantastic city. Always so much to do.

Manchester is a fantastic city. Always so much to do. Any amount of options for food and drink. Activities everywhere. Shopping everywhere. Working class city with normal everyday people. Easy tram line, abundance of taxis, bus lines always good, easy to get to from the airport. Hotels everywhere and not expensive. Train lines to anywhere you want to go in the country.

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past month and will hopefully be returning every time I travel to Manchester. I used to stay at either the Hilton hotels or Premier Inn if I was staying for the whole week due to the price but this hotel just has everything I need, it's nice and clean and the staff are lovely. There's room service (although I haven't used it yet), the location is ideal with sainsburys and tesco just a short walk away as well as other food stores and the room has such lovely character to it.

This is a stunning hotel from the moment you walk through the door. The decor and attention to detail have been excelled and you can tell everything is bespoke. Every little detail has been thought out even down to a glass of champagne while check in is arranged. Its a beautiful space for any interior lover and the furniture and spaces are stunning. The staff here are probably the best I’ve had in any city centre hotel. If you get the chance to stay it’s a must do in Manchester.

This hotel is definitely one of the best value for money in Manchester, the location is so good, right in the centre of the city, just outside the door is the square town hall and tram platform, there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel is very comfortable and clean and the people at reception were very friendly! And they have a restaurant and bar downstairs at ground floor and is very large and very cosy!

It was clean, comfortable, the staff were lovely and really helpful when asked about or for anything. And the hotel is- literally- in the centre of Manchester city centre in Piccadilly gardens where it's really noisy but you don't hear anything in the hotel. As a woman who was alone, i felt totally safe.which is another massive plus as any female traveller will know. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for the Manchester University open day. Excellent location but please note, there are x3 Motel One Hotels in Manchester City Centre so check which one you are staying at, as we went to the wrong one first! Lots of bar seating and great service. A little pricey but cannot fault the hotel facilities, staff or cleanliness so would consider staying here again.

The location of the hotel is perfect for a night out and the staff were friendly and helpful. Check in and check out were very quick and easy and for a double room in the city centre of Manchester, the price was good. The bathroom and shower were decent, with free toiletries (soap and shower gel) and towels provided.

Appreciate the hotel only opened a few weeks ago, but what an addition this is to Manchester. The interior design is second to none and the roof top bar is the icing on the cake. The cooked breakfast was to die for and the supplementary buffet is vast and of the highest quality. Staff were more than welcoming.

The location is excellent as it is right next to Piccadily central station, the staff were extremely polite and friendly and the room was very clean. The value price is very good compared to other hotels in Manchester and England in general, so it was worth it despite the unlikely point below.
