This hotel is well outside Mansfield with views of fields and woods. It is quiet and our stay left little to be desired. The annexe was excellent, but if you want excellent views from your room, it could be better to request an upstairs room in the main building. Unusually among hotels, we found little or nothing to complain about! Really nice.
Lovely hotel, clean well presented rooms, tea, coffe, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room Towels and showergel provided.a nice selection of choice for breakfast. No evening meals were served during our stay a bit over priced though £150 2nights when the wedding we attended down the road would have been cheaper hotel to stay in. Hotels on a busy road so can be noisy with traffic.
Our visit was just a stop en-route to Yorkshire so we didn't have much time to look around Mansfield.much. Also, everything had closed as it was late Sunday afternoon that we arrived. We wandered around the town centre but there did not appear to be much to see or do unless you wanted a drink. There seemed to be a lot of pubs.
Mansfield was interesting, we were there for a wedding though and did not see much. Interesting to know that Nottingham was not far away if you wanted to go. Guest house welcoming and breakfast but too many stairs, we had a family room and it was on the top floor which did not come over on the coverage of facilities. I find it very painful climbing stairs and this was a hindrance to us. Very old Victorian house, would not recommend.
Blink and you might miss it! Avoid the general store, unless you require booze. Might want to gas up if low, as quite a ways to another gas station. Ski if you do not need a great challenge and just want to be out in the snow.Funny that I was even asked about this place as it barely shows on the map. The autumn colours area amazing. If you like to walk, the trails are easy and pretty.
Some lovely buildings, the hotel was very close to the town center that has a variety of shops, unfortunately some areas where a bit run down. I didn't really get time to visit places as I was there for business.
“It is a very quiet hotel which we liked. There were a family who we saw at breakfast that said they'd come in around 1am steaming drunk from a wedding but we heard nothing. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfy and we got a brilliant nights sleep. Our 2 year had to share the bed as to have a little bed for her would have cost us more even though it was classed as the family room however on this occasion it was not a problem for us. ”
“Lovely hotel staff are amazing and can not do enough for you , excellent value for money . Will be booking if the area again . ”
“Close to town centre the hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really good”
“Great people, quiet country side location great breakfast a great change to the bigger hotels I usually stay in Will visit again”
