The Lobster Pot features a restaurant, bar and garden in Marloes. The inn has family rooms. The units in the inn are equipped with a kettle. Staff very welcoming and friendly-evening meal outstanding and HUGE! (whitebait starter, Gammon main) bedroom spotlessly clean and very comfortable-breakfast excellent...been many times before and intend to go many times in the future
Marloes is a very convenient place to stay if you want to visit Skomer Island - only a 5 minute drive to Martins Haven. The Lobster Pot pub serves pleasant food and if you want something more up market, then the Griffin in Dale is only a 10 minute drive away and the seafood there is excellent (best to book as all tables seemed to have been reserved). Skomer island did not disappoint, the puffins were there in force and were very cute plus loads of other sea birds. The £3 guide produced by the WWT was an excellent source of info for the novice bird watcher.
The Puffin Shuttle was still on the Winter timetable so only running 2 days a week until 25th May 2019. When I booked this trip in late December the bus website stated that the summer timetable would come into effect from the first Sunday in May. This made it more difficult for walking different sections of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path but fortunately I had my own transport so could manage some circular walks.
Marloes is great for walking the Pembrokeshire coast. Marlow sands is a lovely beach but Rocky in places. Boat to take over to Skomer Island near by. Plenty of wildlife including seals. Didn't eat in the only pub so can't comment. Small village shop which is well stocked .
If you love the sea and countryside without the modern noise of arcades, commercial clap trap, chip shops and frippery. It's a great place to get back to nature. Many areas to walk and explore with lots of peace and quiet.
Foxdale felt like home from home the owners and staff could not do enough for you. Great to have a Village shop 3 minutes away and Village Pub. The Pembrokeshire coast line and beaches are the best we have seen anywhere.
Ideal for access to Skomer Island. Lots of surrounding walks to suit all abilities. Beaches are spectacular but always a trek. Good starting point for much coastal visiting ie St Davids Pembroke etc. Great places to eat within short driving distance. Very quiet - not suitable for those expecting a wild nightlife!!
