Great market and good pubs. Good choice of supermarkets within 5 minutes drive, Sainsbury’s being the largest. Although we came by car, the railway station is only 3 minutes walk from The Willows. Local people very friendly and it felt very safe to walk at night. We did a pork pie making class at Brockleby’s who have just won pie of the year award and it was great fun. They also do bread making classes. We enjoyed the antique fair on market day with some very friendly stall holders. We will return to this lovely town. We enjoyed the Anne of Cleves pub . The food was delicious and there is a huge garden at the rear. You need to book !
Town was nice plenty of shops and places to visit shame where we stayed was a big let down with things not working properly and member of staff new we should have been offered another room won't be staying again should have been offered a refund
We stayed at Tresillian House B&B for 2 nights - 16th/17th September (family wedding). Alison is the perfect host, she welcomed us in to her beautiful home and we felt as if we were part of her family. The whole house is immaculately clean. Our room was very spacious and there was a wide variety of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits plus a mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable with pure white cotton linen and the pillows made for a great night's sleep. We had access to the lounge which is very cosy and welcoming and the garden is absolutely stunning. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of choice including pastries, cereal, bread, jam and real butter. All the food is locally sourced and freshly cooked to perfection. Alison, we can't thank you enough for making our stay any more perfect. You are so lovely, kind, very welcoming and very hard working. We're looking forward to booking another weekend stay with you in the very near future.
I liked the market town character & facilities. I also liked the range of restaurants & bars, some good shops here, was able to find a suit for a funeral, fresh fruit in the market, nice beer garden in The Anne of Cleves, lovely little pub called 'The Boat', Caffe Italia is a nice bistro, nice little independent coffee places like 'Off the Beaten Path'. Everywhere is easily reachable by foot without the need for transport. It has a huge LIDL & Morrisons. There's a range of banks, even a theatre!
The property was 2 min walk over a river to a beautiful park and into a beautiful old English felling town with a few pubs and shops, a small drive to fishing lakes and country side, we definitely coming back to explore more a weekend was not enough time to do all we wanted to do.
It depends what you are staying there for, we used this as a base to visit Rutland bird fair, there isn't a lot to do in the town, but it's in a lovey part of the country and several things to do not too far away.
The location was perfect with a short walk to the town centre. The staff were most welcoming and the ambiance was excellent. We checked in and had a drink before walking round Melton Mowbray. Free parking at the rear of the hotel. When checking out in the morning I asked if it was okay to leave the car whilst we went for another walk and they said it was fine. Never heard any other guests so a peaceful nights sleep.

Excellent pub accommodation in villiage close to Melton Mowbray. Mark and his staff made our stay a real pleasure. We had an evening meal which was very good and satisfied our substantial appetite. Mark was up early to accommodate an early start request and cooked a superb breakfast to set us up for the day. Great value and very hospitable, Thank you.
Melton Mowbray
Really beautiful venue, attended for a wedding so we decided to book a room to stay. Room was lovely, bed was really comfy. Fan was supplied due to heat wave without us asking. All of the staff provided exceptional customer service. Food was beautiful. I wish we had enough time to use the spa facilities but unfortunately we were unable to.
Melton Mowbray
The cottage was absolutely ideal for us. Perfect location, very quiet ,idyllic. The hosts Mandy and Richard were very kind and friendly. The kitchen was fully equipped and having a washing machine was very useful for us, having returned from a 3 week holiday. Melton Mowbray is only 2 miles away which was handy for shopping etc.

Dinner and breakfast both good as was service. Ambiance overall is one of comfort.

I dropped the host an email ahead of time, and was answered very quickly. The property was absolutely lovely, beautifully decorated, and within walking distance of Melton Mowbray town. There was plenty of space to get the car on the drive, and it was exactly what we were looking for.
Melton Mowbray
It definitely felt more like a home than a hotel or B&B. The grounds are beautiful and you could get lost in them, in a good way. The "Lady of the Manor" was very lovely to speak with and made the stay unforgettable. We will definitely stay again in the future.
Location was fantastic, hotel staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Favilitiea downstairs extremely good, great outdoor and rooftop seating area.
