A spa, fine dining, excellent views and leisure activities combine at Stapleford Park Luxury Hotel, set in 500 acres of woods, parkland and gardens. The Grade 1 listed manor house hotel and the gardens were superb. All staff were extremely helpful, friendly and attentive at all times. The room was beautifully decorated and the bath in the room, overlooking the pastureland, was so relaxing. The swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jaccuzzi were well maintained. A real treat to spend time in. The restaurant menu selection was very good and the food delicious. We ate in the Bar Lounge one evening and again the staff were very helpful even though we were near the cut off time for food they made sure we were served with what we wanted with a smile. The whole stay was fabulous and I wholeheartedly recomment it for a relaxing and pampered stay in the countryside.

Located in Melton Mowbray in the Leicestershire region, The Old Sweet Shop, Melton Mowbray is a 4-star property featuring free WiFi. We loved our stay here. We used it a our accommodation this weekend for our wedding. It worked so well as we married on Friday at Melton registry office and were looking forward to celebrating with everyone on the Saturday. Unfortunately the Sat did not go ahead but having the cottage meant that we could still have our close family and friends with us to celebrate. We are postponing the party until this time next year so definately looking to rebook for then!! I would definitely recommend! We only live 40 mins away but it felt like a little holiday. ❤️
We stayed at Tresillian House B&B for 2 nights - 16th/17th September (family wedding). Alison is the perfect host, she welcomed us in to her beautiful home and we felt as if we were part of her family. The whole house is immaculately clean. Our room was very spacious and there was a wide variety of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits plus a mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable with pure white cotton linen and the pillows made for a great night's sleep. We had access to the lounge which is very cosy and welcoming and the garden is absolutely stunning. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of choice including pastries, cereal, bread, jam and real butter. All the food is locally sourced and freshly cooked to perfection. Alison, we can't thank you enough for making our stay any more perfect. You are so lovely, kind, very welcoming and very hard working. We're looking forward to booking another weekend stay with you in the very near future.
I liked the market town character & facilities. I also liked the range of restaurants & bars, some good shops here, was able to find a suit for a funeral, fresh fruit in the market, nice beer garden in The Anne of Cleves, lovely little pub called 'The Boat', Caffe Italia is a nice bistro, nice little independent coffee places like 'Off the Beaten Path'. Everywhere is easily reachable by foot without the need for transport. It has a huge LIDL & Morrisons. There's a range of banks, even a theatre!
The property was 2 min walk over a river to a beautiful park and into a beautiful old English felling town with a few pubs and shops, a small drive to fishing lakes and country side, we definitely coming back to explore more a weekend was not enough time to do all we wanted to do.
It depends what you are staying there for, we used this as a base to visit Rutland bird fair, there isn't a lot to do in the town, but it's in a lovey part of the country and several things to do not too far away.
Melton Mowbray is a lovely little market town - there are many independent restaurants, cafes and bars, catering for all tastes. There are also independent, boutique shops and the new Makers’ Market on Saturdays, as well as the traditional produce market in the centre. Obviously, Pork Pies and Stilton feature widely both in shops and on stalls! Historically, Melton Mowbray is interesting and sits in a picturesque area of Leicestershire, also not far from Rutland - the smallest county.
An historic town with useful information boards and plaques. A pleasant walking experience. It would have been more interesting if we had known the days the impressive church was open, and also the days for the cattle market and farmers' market. It was a pity we missed that. It is not easy to find a restaurant on a Sunday evening (our hotel did not have a restaurant open). There was an Indian restaurant opposite that was open, and the food was good though the service was slow.
Melton Mowbray
A very spacious, well appointed cottage with a lovely tea room a a minute's walk away. Ample parking. Secluded with good views of the Rutland countryside. A gorgeous restored windmill is on the site. Nearby Oakham is well worth a visit as is Rutland Water and Barnsdale Gardens.

I dropped the host an email ahead of time, and was answered very quickly. The property was absolutely lovely, beautifully decorated, and within walking distance of Melton Mowbray town. There was plenty of space to get the car on the drive, and it was exactly what we were looking for.
Melton Mowbray
It definitely felt more like a home than a hotel or B&B. The grounds are beautiful and you could get lost in them, in a good way. The "Lady of the Manor" was very lovely to speak with and made the stay unforgettable. We will definitely stay again in the future.

Lovely place, fantastic location. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was large and very comfortable. All areas of the hotel and pub were clean and tidy. I will be staying again when I go back for work next time.
A nice hotel with character, large twin room, very comfortable bed, very clean. After reading some reviews we were apprehensive, but it was fine, yes it is an old building, but that's what gives it character
