The venue is situated in an affluent suberbia , public transport is close by . For eating out would recommend Wimbledon village as opposed to Morden town , though we did find a nice Italian restaurant ,but at least we will know better for next time .
Mitcham centre has little to recommend it.
Mitcham centre has little to recommend it. Fair Green is being improved and the old clock has been renovated but this does not make up for a shabby shopping centre which features the odd bank, chain store and supermarket amongst the betting shops and chicken joints. The only decent coffee is at Ginos the Italian restaurant. The pubs one a Wetherspoon have little to recommend them apart from the low prices. The best restaurant in Mitcham is an unusual Indian called Chak 89. It is also a banqueting centre. Do not be put off by the fact it is on a small industrial estate. You go to the top floor where you will find a bar serving cocktails etc and a well appointed restaurant serving delicious Punjabi food. Mitcham Common is a great place for fishing and dog walks. The best thing about Mitcham though is that 5 buses go to Tooting taking 10 to 15 minutes. There you will find a plethora of bars and eateries to suit all tastes.

It was perfect for us, we were having work done to our house and we had no water or any facilities. We only live a ten minute drive from there, so it was perfect for early morning starts with builders. it was so quiet and peaceful, beautiful house, beautiful rooms, very nice people running it. I'm afraid that we did not have time to go places whilst we were there, but it is easy to get around,
a night stayover
plenty of buses in the area, the main bus is 280 on the main road to and from mitcham and Sutton. there is a tram stop close by mitcham 280 goes right by it. and Sutton has main train station, plus bars and pubs too. Croydon not far everything there. main train stations. east and west Croydon into London. morden is not far that's is the start of London underground. hire car places all over if you want to be quick and dropped off and picked up. just make sure you have cash with hire cars and ask cost of journey before you book. hire car know all venues and venue types so ask them. cost nothing to ask.
be aware buses stop at night see bus stops for last bus. but N44 is night bus, Victoria to tooting to mitcham and Sutton. [plus others in London]
“The easy and free parking outside the property. The room was tastefully decorated, warm and very clean. I liked having a fridge so I could have fresh milk for my tea. For breakfast I preferred that it was continental and especially liked the fresh fruit salad and nutty bread! The owners were kind, friendly and helpful and had plenty of information about local buses etc. I would stay again and if you are in that part of London I would recommend the hotel.”
“The house and gardens are beautiful in a very quiet suburban area. The house is immaculately clean and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Great value for money. Would definitely go back there in the future. Much nicer than staying in any hotel.”
