The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Nikita in particular welcomed us on arrival and gave very good advice and assistance during the stay. We were kept informed of an issue with the oven which had broken down and they even offered the use of their oven should we have needed it. After an issue with public charging our EV Ben kindly let us charge from the cottage. Thanks Ben & Adele for being such good hosts, hope to visit again one day!

Silverdale Farmhouse B&B is set in a peaceful location in a small hamlet nestled between the Cheviots and the Simonside hills. Everything! The cleanliness, beautiful decor and comfy beds. The incredible views and neighbouring villages. Marley the friendly, talkative dog and the lovely, inquisitive chickens. The breakfast was amazing too! But what really made it so very special was the endless kindness of our hosts Glenn and Angie. They went out of their way and bent over backwards to make sure we had the most comfortable and easy stay. We can’t rate them enough. We would definitely recommend a few nights here to make the most out of the beautiful b&b, gardens and the magical surroundings. Without doubt the best place we have ever stayed.

Springfield is a boutique guest house in the village of Rothbury, on the edge of Northumberland National Park. It offers spacious rooms with exposed stone walls, free Wi-Fi. The owner. She was absolutely great. Plenty of eating options in the village and a good location to start off from.
Pretty, historic, small, surrounded by a lovely natural valley with a river running through it (so great walks/views) and intimate but enough facilities and things going on to keep your interest. Local stone architecture, friendly people and at the very heart of Northumberland, so great for exploring the county and coastline. A variety of good value places to eat and drink, although none of the usual high street name chains (apart from a Co-op, which is a good thing!). Parking around and about seemed easy. Lots of places to visit nearby, such as the National Trust's Cragside.
Rothbury is a lovely place to visit for the day or a week. Lots of walks around the area if you are active. Lots of quaint shops and only a few pubs but they are lovely. If you are staying its worth booking an evening meal, lots are booked out so tourists are left with the chippy or the pizza place - which are book excellent really. A great starting place for a walk and a day out. Narrow Nick is the local microbar which is the friendliest place in town where both locals and tourists mix well and the host Paul has an amazing knowledge of gins! the Newcastle house is nice to sit outisde but only does a curry at evenings. Turks Head has a good beer garden but make sure you book there too. There is a nice local Italians that locals told us about too.
Pretty town in a wonderful area full of interesting places. We stumbled upon Rothbury and we are delighted we did. It has everything you need. Great eating establishments places to walk, park your car and explore.
Lovely small town along the Coquet river which is lovely to walk along. The town was bigger than expected. Very near to Cragside which has a beautiful estate to walk for many mils in forests and around lakes, especially pretty in July when the rhododendron is in flower. Great walks nearby eg up Simonside, Cheviot hills. Coast also nearby for further exploration of castles and beautiful sandy beaches
Rothbury has everything you could need, to be honest. It has a co-op for your grocery needs, a couple of very good pubs, restaurants, the best chip shop I've ever been in, lovely clothes shop, banks, chemist and an art gallery and library! The parking is free but can get very busy but we never had a problem finding a spot. Very peaceful and the residents were amazingly friendly.
Good centre for exploring Northumberland, good traditional high street with numerous shops and pubs. Close to National Trust properties. Not too far for trips to wonderful Northumberland coastline. Friendly locals.
