Boasting a bar, Avoca Hotel is situated in Newcastle in the Down County region, less than 1 km from Tollymore Forest Park and 2.9 km from Slieve Donard. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful the food was excellent and the room was spotlessly clean I'm surprised this hotel is only one star I think it should be awarded more
With stunning views of the County Down coastline and superb spa facilities, including a 20-metre pool, the 4-star Slieve Donard Resort & Spa stands in 6 acres of grounds, leading to the Royal County... (spa bedrooms) The beds and linens were great. Loved having a separate tub and a shower. Loved the rain shower head. A beautiful views of mountains and sea. Afternoon tea was excellent. The spa was outstanding. Very convenient (quick walk) to golf course.
Located in Newcastle, within 9 km of Tollymore Forest Park and 13 km of Slieve Donard, Slievenaman Cottage provides accommodation with a garden and as well as free private parking for guests who... This place was a hidden gem. Situated in a valley, it gives beautiful views of mountains and pastures. The historic home is also very beautiful and the guests house is very cozy. Hosts John and Valerie went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay, and it was great to have a chance to chat with locals. If we ever find ourselves in this part of the world again, we will definitely stay here again if possible.
Set in Newcastle, just 2 km from Tollymore Forest Park, Patio Bliss! offers beachfront accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. Location and everything beautiful clean more than well equipped with everything you need easy access free parking across the road ❤️
Stunning views at Ballagh Cottage Newcastle offers accommodation in Newcastle, 5 km from Tollymore Forest Park and 12 km from Dundrum Castle. Loved it ideal for relaxing break stunning views great facilities and the personal touches was first class. Our children are young but the owners had left toys for them to play with and of course someone else's toys are better than your own so they went down a treat.
Set in Newcastle, 1.9 km from Slieve Donard and 2 km from Tollymore Forest Park, Boutique Apartment by the Irish Sea offers a garden and air conditioning. Fantastic friendly host. Great communications. Apartment is immaculate. Lovely open plan living/kitchen area with everything anyone would ever need for a short or longer stay. Added bonus of a nice view over the seafront from the glass sliding door/balcony. Really comfortable bed with lots of storage. Spotless bathroom and shower. Private gated parking. Brilliant location a stones throw from a couple of bars/restaurants. Conveinience store and a quirky coffee shop also beside apartment. 10 minute walk into newcastle centre and the granite trail up to a fantastic view point starts just behind apartment. Couldnt recommend this place highly enough.
Have always visited Newcastle as a child and always like coming back. Love the relaxing strolls along the sea front, so peaceful. Look forward to visiting the local coffee shops for something good to eat.
It's a small town along sea side. It's fun to walk on the promenade along the beach, n beach as well. There r a lot of nice café n places to eat. Wonderful place to get relaxed. If u r looking for activity, Newcastle is a starting point of Mourne walk route n mountains.
Bracing winter air. Big waves crashing on to the beach. It was a very windy- to be expected in December! Must be pleasant in warm summer weather. Town very busy with traffic. Pity the railway is long gone-it would be the ideal way to get to Newcastle now, as still no dual carriageway road from Belfast.
couldnt fault anything just the time we had there went in to quick but next time will diffinitly stay alot longer it was so will placed to the town to we were there for a family wedding total weekend was amazing
I liked the flat walks along the promenade. I liked the cleanliness of the town. A day trip to the Silent Valley Reservoir was very worthwhile. As we were out of season we could take the car up to the reservoir otherwise I would not have been able to view its magnificence.Disabled persons must be very disappointed when they are told they have to walk to the reservoir. The lady in the Reservoir cafe was very pleasant and helpful. We ate at French's restaurant at Clough on our way to Newcastle, the Percy French Restaurant, the Lighthouse Restaurant and the Silent Valley Cafe.
Newcastle is definitely worth a visit. It has a very relaxing atmosphere and the forest and mountains are beautiful. For people who enjoy nature and walking you will love this place. There are lots of good restaurants and coffee shops! I liked the crystal shop in the main st.
This place really is beautiful, I’ve probably stayed in 500 hotels so becoming a bit of a profi with this. Location is 1st class, rooms are large and incredibly clean. Hotel entrance has a warm feel and the check in is in the neighboring bar that you’re going to struggle to leave. Open fires and amazing atmosphere. View from the room was a very rough and windy Irish Sea... I can blame the Haven for the weather but so all in all this place is a real Gem Loved it.!
KNOCKING ON HEAVENS DOOR, WOW WOW you got to visit Ballagh Cottage the views, hot tub and sauna in a Tree house, Yes Tree House, WOW WOW, Jack the donkey, Joanne & Tom outstanding hospitality, the children loved everyday there, Ballagh Cottage is SPARKLING clean, bedding luxury hotel standard. the cottage is all made from Love, you can feel and sense the love in the cottage, what more could a body want? , I will be back, cant wait!!.
Lovely reception from Sarah, a nice, clean and very well decorated apartment (love the nautical theme and how it's done throughout the place), with ample space for two or even three. The provided breakfast was nice and the information given was very useful. We had a good time climbing Slieve Donard, which is pretty close and the local hotel spa was also excellent. Thank you for a great stay.
The unit was newly renovated and it was gorgeous. There was lots of space and the view of the mountains was incredible. We needed some help with a couple of things upon arrival and the hotel manager was great and took care of us. Note: you pick up the keys at the avoca hotel and the views apartments are a 2 min walk down the road. There is a free parking lot right behind the apartments.
The hotel is OK, but the bed was and pillows were horrible! You could feel the spring in the mattress and the pillows were flat. The location is poor with no facilities. The hotel, like every one we stayed at in the uK, is dated. I wish managenent in these places would spent some of their money on improvements! None have been cheap by US standards.
The location of this property was central to everything a must with small children. Everything was perfect from the minute we stepped inside and they really couldn’t do enough for is. Rooms were a perfect size and beds super comfy. Will never stay in a hotel with kids again this really was just perfect and will definitely be back 👍🏻
It massively exceeded my expectations based on what I paid to stay here. I felt better looked after here than I did in hotels I paid substantially more to stay in. I will absolutely be back. I also took away some ideas I’d like to add to my own home.
Hunters park was warm and welcoming it spotlessly clean a real home from home. Tesco's and Spar were close to hand as was the town of Newcastle County Down. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone Nick
The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful the food was excellent and the room was spotlessly clean I'm surprised this hotel is only one star I think it should be awarded more
Me and my daddy stayed for 4days,The staff were very present could not do enough for us,will surely be recommending this hotel and will be back for sure
One can walk from hotel to the Royal County Down course. Great location and beautiful setting. Most comfortable beds!
Lovely clean & spacious house. We had great weather so proximity to the beach was fab.
This cottage was one of my favorite places during our recent vacation. Delightful greeting by the hostess. View out the front door was sublime, and the coal fire was perfect for the chilly evenings. Walking distance to shops and food choices. Truly a wonderful experience.
The facility is excellent and rooms comfortable. The owners are very friendly and provide excellent service. It is located in a quiet countryside setting
Perfect little cottage with amazing views. Had everything you would neEd.
Views were great and the house has everything you need
