We were in town following the trail of a family member (long since gone) and this property was recommended. Great location, excellent food, and everyone working there was so kind and helpful. Would definitely stay again should we find ourselves in Newmarket!

Almost everything! Our room was very modern, spacious and clean. Lovely bathroom...we really enjoyed the shower with the rainfall shower head and decent pressure. We enjoyed a very nice cocktail in the bar area in the evening and loved the outdoor area with very comfortable seating which was undercover with optional heating. Friendly staff and liked the modern entrance codes to access hotel room which meant no losing a key or door card 😉

The huge statement bath and bath bubbles were such a treat. The great sized comfortable bed meant we enjoyed a good night's sleep. Lovely views from the windows. Peaceful location. The inn downstairs served up the most amazing food for our evening meal.

Newmarket primarily the attraction for horse racing enthusiasts, although surrounding countryside, cities and towns good. Newmarket town centre is looking a little tired with many shops closed down on the High Street.

Larry was an excellent tour guide throughout the tour.

Larry was an excellent tour guide throughout the tour. Newmarket is a lovely place steeped in horse racing history and fantastic countryside. The National Stud tour was mind-blowing, with beautiful grounds, fantastic horses and foals to be seen close up all looking in wonderful condition. The gallops were another exciting experience, viewing the racehorses exercising close up, there were at least a hundred the morning we arrived. Horse Racing History is everywhere! Fabulous day out. I used Newmarket as a base to explore the surrounding area, it has good road connections to many other towns and the countryside. Horse Racing capital for the UK, good place to stay if you like anything horsey. The usual High Street facilities with the more modern retail park outlets nearby.

I was visiting only for an overnight stay, to break my journey. I used to live there many years ago and it has changed a lot, which I expected but didn’t enjoy. I walked up the Main Street and Black Bear Lane to see my old property. Then through the Church yard and another property in Church Lane, which I hardly recognised. The bells used to wake us up as they were very loud and made the cottage shake. I loved living in Newmarket in the 70’s but don’t think I’d move back there. If you love Horses and racing you’d love the town.

Room (119) was super comfortable - especially in storm force winds! Warm, cosy, lovely bath to relax in. Super comfy king size bed. Dinner in Squires was a delight - great menu, food and staff. Lovely lounge areas with open fires to add to the coziness. All staff very friendly and professional. Great location in Newmarket, loads of parking space and close to everything. Sadly, ran out of time so unable to use the spa/leisure facilities which was one of the reasons I booked this hotel. Very good value for a Sunday night stay in January.

A beautifully presented hotel, pub and restaurant in a lovely little village outside Newmarket. The room we booked (Warren) was gorgeous, with a lovely big bathtub, spotlessly clean and lots of space. Our dinner that night, and breakfast the following morning, was delicious. We went in January, just before returning to work, and it was a lovely place to reset and relax between Christmas and the return to work.

The best place we've recently been. Cheap, very good and quiet location. Very helpful and nice host. We were able to leave of food in the fridge, and cook in the kitchen. We washed our clothes in the washing machine. Very quiet and warm house. I truly recommend this hostel in Newmarket.
