We were returning from a weeks holiday in south Cornwall en route to the Pembroke car ferry. It was a long, arduous drive in the rain and decided to stop somewhere overnight. I knew at first sight that we'd chosen the right place. It was delightful! An old priory full of history, charm artifacts, comfort and to top it all amazing food in a restaurant full of ambience.

We had an unplanned stop in Newport and came across this place in the booking.com app. They luckily had a family room available and are open 24/7 so we could check in when we arrived well after midnight. We were greated by very friendly staff and thst continued during our stay. At breakfast and at the front desk when we checked out (nice: check out possible until 11). The hotel was quite recently built and everything in the room was great (good shampoo and soap) We slept so well and recovered from and exhausting day perfectly. The breakfast buffet was phantastic. Fry up, croissant, cereal, fresh fruits. And the choice of coffees including in decaf. All presented by very helpful and friendly staff. There was a lot we didn’t even take advantage of: The bar downstairs looked well stocked. There was a beach bar outside. There was a swimming pool and spa available. And a kids‘ playroom. I would like to go there and wouldn‘t look for anything else.

the travel in Newport is expensive and bus drivers do not help you to get to your destinations. The standard price for single ticket is £5, the day ticket for all zones is £9 and if you want to travel further with children then its more than £13 ! it is very expensive on travel.

A nice place with an excellent shopping centre.

A nice place with an excellent shopping centre. Disappointed with the lack of green areas in the centre. People, including shop staff, were very nice and helpful. However it was difficult to find somewhere to eat what we like (traditional English meals). Ended up with tasteless junk takeaway. We did not bring transport but did not need to go anywhere that was not walkable, other than we would have liked to have found a suitable eatery nearer the city centre, because we have a dog and even if allowed, he does not travel well on buses. We are not a young couple and it looked like there was little for us to do in the evenings.

Newport is a nice city to visit. It is well signposted for visitors. It has a good shopping area and a great bus service. The rail service is good. I ate at the Wetherspoons near the railway station. I have visited yearly for the last three years and have always enjoyed my time there.

I LOVED the hotel and grounds.

I LOVED the hotel and grounds. It was the perfect place for meeting up with old friends and neighbours from our years in Cwmbran. It was a perfect place to begin the healing process after suffering the sudden loss of my beloved husband of many years. It was a beautiful place, filled with gorgeous grounds where I could wander and enjoy the beauty of trees, shrubs, neatly mown lawns, colourful flowers and birdsong. I adored the little arbours with cushioned seats, and the huge tree with a bench seat round it's huge trunk, and I especially loved the bridal swing which hangs from the weeping willow tree. For a while each evening I had a little swing and imagined I was a child again. I cam specifically to meet up with old friends who had known and loved my husband too - and for some comforting Welsh cwtches from them! However, next time I would bring my bathing costume for a swim in the beautiful swimming pool, and a water massage in the jacuzzi. I found the Hotel and grounds to be a little touch of Heaven on earth, especially in the beautiful sunshine I was privileged to enjoy. A fan in the room was the icing on the cake at night. I was able to leave it on the lowest setting which cooled the room so that I could sleep well. I highly recommend Parkway and will be back.

Newport is a great city, steeped in history with the John Frost chartist riots taking place there, plus Roman remains and baths/museum etc. It is wonderfully located to cover most of the Southern half of Great Britain.

We came up for an event and stayed two nights at the Greene King New Inn. This was close to the motorway, reasonably priced and has excellent customer service. Whilst staying we went to the Retail Park at Spytty; which has everything you could possibly want. We went to Cineworld, Caffe Nero, and the Harvester whilst there. Cineworld was an absolute treat, it was our first time going to this brand cinema and we will most definitely be back - they had veggie dogs! Plus comfy chairs. The staff in Caffe Nero were kind and helpful as I walk with a stick they took my drinks to the table for me. The Harvester is always a safe bet for food as you know what you are getting with the brand; but once again exemplary customer service when we visited. The reason I say it was too short, is that I used to live just outside the city centre and it brought back so many happy memories. It is somewhere I would always recommend as it has something for everyone.

We stayed here one night because it is within walking distance of the Newport Passport Office. We arrived at 9.30 pm and received a warm welcome from Tasiane on reception. It feels like a brand new hotel and the room on the 10th floor was very clean, well equipped with a commanding view over the river Usk. Slept very well in the comfortable bed. Breakfast was better than expected with exceptionally tasty mushroom, tomato and bacon. Late checkout was available but our passport appointment was quick and on time so we did not need extra time.

I booked my stay at Sam and Adam's house due to a business trip in Newport. The hosts were friendly and helpful from the very beginning to check-out. Upon entering the house, you'd spot top-notch cleanliness, large space (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom all to yourself), and a relaxed atmosphere. I was stressful due to personal reasons, but the comfortable mattress had me sunk into an abstract void, soundless and serene. The kitchen had instant coffee and tea bags prepared, and bathroom space rivals a luxury-hotel level of experience.

We stayed one night to go a family funeral in Newport. The hotel room was comfortable. The bed and linens were lovely and we were so impressed with the pillows that I have ordered some online! Breakfast was great and Sue was very attentive and cheerful, even getting my husband an egg which I had forgotten to tick on the menu! In fact, all.of the staff were very helpful and pleasant. This was great for a one night stay near (but not IN Newport.)

I travelled to Newport for a family funeral . Staff at the hotel repeatedly went above and beyond with assistance. They allowed other family members to use our room facilities and provided breakfast, hours after it had stopped being served . I didn't get their names, but staff on the front desk should be highly commended .
