Padstow
Located in the picturesque Cornwall village of Treyarnon, this YHA hostel is just 164 feet from the sandy beach. The Location is second to none. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious (I had the Veggie full b'fast) - and particularly enjoyed because the kitchen was going to have to close due to Covid and I got the impression they were just bending over backwards to be helpful. They were super-Covid-Safe. I'm fussy with having painful joints - so the bed was also surprisingly comfortable.

We only had 2 days at the coast and Padstow is one of the larger towns, so it was perfect for us. The Camel Bike Path to Wadebridge and Bodmin was a highlight, stopping at the Tea Garden just before Bodmin. We took the ferry across to Rock for breakfast one morning, learned a lot at the National Lobster Hatchery and had decadent cakes at Cherry Trees on the habor. Dinner in tiny Port Isaac at Outlaw's Fish Kitchen was amazing, worth the advance reservations!
Padstow is a great place , that is why we have stayed there numerous times. Cherry Trees is our favourite cafe for quality and value for money. The main problem is parking , but that would be difficult to overcome as it is so popular. We would try to avoid popular holiday times in future.
Padstow is also commonly known as 'Padstein" due to it's connection with Rick Stein. I would recommend also checking out the local independent restaurants/cafes as they often surprise!
Great walking area. Excellent pubs and restaurants. Great for dogs out of season ( many beaches do not allow dogs in the summer months) hawkers cove allow dogs all year round. Parking can be a problem in Padstow in summer.
It was out of season, so we enjoyed the fact there were few people about, especially in the evenings, so we had no problem getting into restaurants, of which there are many serving excellent fresh local produce.
Lots of restaurants, pubs and cafes, very quaint streets, nice and quiet when you walk away from the centre. People very obliging and pleasant. Long walk to the beaches but well worth the effort. Some parking in the town, large car park above but a steep walk back up! An enjoyable and pleasant stay.
The staff, without exception, were all lovely and went out of their way to make the stay a good one. The breakfast staff especially - waiter and chefs - were very welcoming and got each day off to a good start. The manager also made sure that we were reserved a table on Sunday with prime view of the screen to watch the football. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean and have fantastic views down to Padstow and Rock harbour. The restaurant is also spacious and has a good range of food and drinks.
Wonderful large apartment, fully equipped and centrally located. Even nicer than the beautiful photos: tastefully decorated with a maritime, Cornwall theme and impeccably maintained. It's not a budget place, but if you are looking for a beautiful apartment, centrally located with a full kitchen and direct access to Padstow's reknowned restaurants, this is the place to stay. Highly recommend.
Padstow
We had a lovely stay, everything had been thought of including some really lovely personal touches like fresh flowers, cream team and enough tea and coffee for our stay. Also loved the hotel touches like the dressing gowns, big towels and really nice soap, body wash and lotion. Great location too! We just had the best time and hope to be back again one day
