Peel is historically interesting and varied, comprising a fishing port/marina, castle and sandy family friendly beach. Varied eating places but limited in number, I went self-catering. Peel is very easy traverse on foot. Winter isn't the best time to visit.
A lovely seaside town with a long sandy beach. There are a couple of nice seafood restaurants near the marina and the public houses serve locally sourced, homemade food. There are several cafes along the seafront, the Bowling Green cafe being well worth a visit.
For a mini challenge take a walk up Peel Hill from Fenella beach and enjoy the stunning views of the coast to the South from Corrin's Folly. Tuck into a kipper tea at the Harbour Lights café on the sea front. Pick up an ice cream and wonder around the marina and Peel Castle on St Patrick's Isle . Enjoy real ales in the Creek Inn or Whitehouse (also live music). Stop at the Peveril Hotel for a homemade hazelnut vodka. For evening meals the Boat Yard and Filbey's on the quayside are great. On a budget, there are a number of chip shops and Chinese takaways. Great location to base yourself for short and long walks along the coastal paths to the North and South and bridleways to the East. lots of mountain biking trails within easy reach too.
