We arrived on a late flight that was further delayed. Although we had been given instructions on where to find our key, we struggled to find it. Out popped the innkeeper to help with a cheery attitude and showed us to our room. The room was spacious and one of the cleanest places I had ever stayed at. The bed was a tad creaky which I noticed for about 10 seconds and then dropped off to a lovely night of sleep. Tglhe slhower (again, super clean and nice) had modern fixtures and good hot water. we enjoyed tea and hot chocolate (which our granddaughter loved) plus biscoffs. We can’t say enough good things about the innkeeper who advised us on travels, graciously forgave our ruining of a towel, and drove to the airport to catch us walking there when she realized we had left an item behind. Highly recommended!

Excellent hotel. Stayed in a suite and good value. Staff are a credit to the hotel. Always feel welcome when I stay here. The hotel is spotless, the three mile pub is a lovely pub, spacious with nice staff, pool table , dart board, and nice food. The hotel is a bit further out from the centre so better value. Only 10 - 15 min walk to metro with trains every 10 mins or so , nice quiet area and cost about 14 pounds to get a taxi back after night out at Sam fender concert. Will definitely be back again and if there is parking at the hotel if driving. Good base if staying for a few days.

Perfect location at the airport! The staff were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The room & bathroom were large, spotless, & had everything I needed, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The restaurant staff were friendly & attentive despite being busy, & the food was quite good.

The room exceeded our expectations. It even had a little balcony with a table and four chairs. Now how cool is that? The staff were extremely friendly. The evening meal that we had was extremely tasty and filling. We slept well, the bed was extremely comfortable and wide. In the morning we had breakfast. I had a full breakfast my husband had salmon. Both were more than adequate and saw us through the whole day without need for further sustenance.

    I stayed overnight as I had an early flight. 10 minutes walk from Newcastle Airport Metro. 10 minutes walk to pub/restaurant. Friendly welcome. Room was comfortable and clean. Excellent price for the location.

    WE have already completed an review of this place.

    WE have already completed an review of this place. No hot water in bathroom. No where to put toiletries. Loose toilet. poor towels. No hair dryer. No breakfast options even though it calls itself a bed and breakfast. The bed was low and did not look promising but was OK. The Badger around the corner was a great little pub for evening meals.

    Lovely little village.

    Lovely little village. The Diamond is right in the centre, next to the Church and the river. It could not be a nicer setting. The pub does not do evening meals but there are several good places to eat in the village. I ate at The Blackbird, a 17th century former abbots house round the corner from the Diamond.

    Absolutely fantastic stay from arriving to leaving..

    Absolutely fantastic stay from arriving to leaving.. Couldn't have been happier. Excellent service by the manager? who showed us to our room, had a giggle with us at the bar and was an all-round nice guy. Evening meal was superb - although the steak was slightly over done for us but still delicious and plenty of it. Our waitress did let us down a bit by bringing our water and the wine list and then not coming back to take our order - we had to call for back up - Alex arrived and immediately took over and saved the day (and review).. Exceptional customer service.. she could not have done anymore. We will be back! It's just a pity there are no (bar facilities/chill area) if you are a guest to enjoy a drink after your meal or when you arrive at the hotel.

    Smallish town with plenty of eateries of all sorts - all within easy walking of the hotel. Sign post for "shopping centre" - don't bother going Good central point to visit surrounding castles and historic places We did not go into Newcastle but would have been easy to do
