143 New Road Porthcawl is a beachfront property located in Porthcawl, a 6-minute walk from Sandy Bay Beach and 20 miles from Grand Theater. Attention to details. Everything you could need was there and of good quality. Modern light bright and airy. File had lots of useful info about the house. As a group we enjoyed the visit and would stay here again.
We were met at the door on arrival and warmly welcomed into the house. Room was beautiful, had a bay window overlooking a view of the sea. Treats in room included homemade mince pies and complementary prosecco which was appreciated. Jane and Jonathan were incredibly friendly and chatted to us making sure we knew which pub to go to for food and where to walk. Had a fantastic breakfast both days with lots of choice. We would have stayed longer if possible. One of the best places we've stayed in.
Porthcawl is a lovely town it has a good shopping area and lovely walks around the area. It has numerous pubs and restaurants . We ate at the Globe pub and found the food very good with generous sized portions .We stayed in Newton cottage and could not fault it .
What can I say apart from a nice old hotel ok it’s a bit dated but it’s clean and tidy I’ve been there a few times and been lucky to get the same room the best room in my opinion…..but I’m not saying the number lol …in all cannot fault the place up to now I will be back
Porthcawl has a wonderful prom and plenty of places to drink and eat. My favourite places were the Lorelei public house for both the selection of beers and the food. and the Esplanade cafe for breakfasts and snacks during the day. I'll be back at some point.
We have not stayed in Porthcawl for many years. We were pleasantly surprised. Coney beach area hasn't changed much. Harbour lights extension to Hi Tide in was lovely. Seafront area was lovely. Spent hours reminising about Porthcawl holidays when i was a child. A lovely trip down memory lane.
I grew up in Porthcawl so knew it fairly well. I was pleased to see it has not been developed too much hence making it too "touristy". There are plenty of places to eat and the same quaint shops as well as some more modern ones. Plenty of beaches from Rest Bay right down to Sandy Bay where the funfair is.
Porthcawl
The bed in the King's Room was very comfortable and the residents lounge was most welcoming particularly with the complimentary wine. The bathroom in the King's Room was good and the shower worked well. My sister was in the French Room and they loved it. We thought that it was very nice too. So if you have a choice between the King's and the French Room we would recommend the French room. Annette was a very engaging host and I could not fault her hospitality. The location is excellent with easy access to the town
House was modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Kitchen was well appointed. Only one toilet but in a separate room to bathroom/ shower so six of us shared without any problem. Easy walk into Porthcawl. Parking no problem. Very kind and friendly neighbours!
