Portrush is a typical old fashioned seaside resort but with the addition of now some more upmarket restaurants and more high end accommodation, but at least the old amusement fare is still there on the beach which I remember from my childhood pure nostalgia. Got what we are used to and want from Portrush, always love a break up here. As a 'local' I've been coming here since the 1960s and watched it decline into a race-track of noisy cars with revving engines and loud exhausts, dog excrement-strewn streets, and unbelievably expensive facilities. (£4.75 for a bar of chocolate that's £1.50 in Tescos?) There are still good parts, and they should be praised for continuing to provide a good service, but in too many areas it's derelict buildings, rubbish-strewn back alleys, and a real money-trap. The weekend 'parade' of young people in loud modified cars really spoils the streets and their revving will keep you up all night no matter how good your hotel windows.Guest review byColin LUnited Kingdom
