Don’t visit for the restaurant scene....... No food in The Boyne or The Shore. Fish and Chip shop closed at 2030 on the weekend. Station Hotel was the only option but they stopped serving 10 minutes after we walked in. The supermarket is open until 10pm.....
The Hotel accommodation was lovely.. Room 7 at the top of the stairs to the left was wonderful.. We ate both nights at the Hotel and each meal was great. Portsoy is a wonderful little village with charm and character and everyone we met was happy and accommodating!! Loved the little Harbour and the Salmon Bothy which was a small Museum with history of the fishing etc that used to go on there years ago!
A quiet historical fishing village that has seen better days. Nevertheless the place and the harbour have character. It is peaceful , charming and authentic. The Station Hotel provides good food and there is a boat building shed where the locals are restoring and building wooden boats and dinghies. You learn more about the history of Portsoy at the same time. There is a wooden boat festival held there every year. This year it is their 25th anniversary.
A charming little former fishing town with pretty harbour area, small loch walk with ducks and a selection of little shops etc well placed to give access along the Moray coast and through Whisky country. A selection of places to get food from local hotel to fish restaurant and ice cream parlour as well as small supermarket open late.
Have been here many times before. A lovely Scottish coastal location, steeped in history and charm. Great walks and scenery and well positioned between good alternative locations for choice and additional days out. Local people are always welcoming and easy to get on with and all ways happy to help if needed.

Staff where very helpful and the facilities were well maintained and spotless. Location (just 50 meters from the sea shore) was great and nearby the shops in the Portsoy's town center. The Sail Loft would be first on the list if we visit the area again.
