This 16th-century estuary-front hotel in Ravenglass, a former coaching inn, offers free Wi-Fi and fine local food in its brasserie-style restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent especially the breakfast. The staff worked very hard to make our stay a happy one
Located in Ravenglass, within 1.4 mi of Muncaster Castle and 656 feet of Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway, The Inn at Ravenglass features accommodations with a bar and free WiFi as well as free... Excellent location, fantastic room and friendly service from staff, really good breakfast
Muncaster Castle Coachman's Quarters are now all self catering with recently refreshed and redecorated rooms all with access to communal kitchen, dining room and lounge areas. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower pressure was good and the walk from the Coachman's House was really short and very convenient. The castle and grounds were spectacular and the show was fun. The bird show was really great. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. The pastries were amazing. I wish I could have taken some home. All in all a great trip!
It was in the middle of nowhere, but about 10 miles away was a small town with all the shops. There was a petrol station 10 mins away with a small shop. It is the great outdoors with the lakes not too far away.
Only a short stay but lovely location. Bar food at Ratty pub very good. Muncaster Castle nearby well worth a day out (previously visited) and looks excellent for walking around Duddon estuary. Steam train journey to Dalegarth also a great trip out.
We found the Coachmans Quarters to be really different, to stay at a castle was really cool and the exit door opens out to the Courtyard where in non covid days, one assumes served breakfast? They had a fab workaround by providing breakfast (with veggie options) at their near by hotel in the village which was perfect! The rooms we had booked were clean and comfortable with excellent beds👌Though rooms can’t be serviced as in normal times, they supplied coffee, tea, chocolate and biccies in abundance when we needed more. We had a bath shower too, clean and nice and bright. There is also a kitchen and lounge with a dining area if you fancy cooking something yourself. For the price it’s terrific value, worked out to £49 pp per night incl breakfast! STAYING AT A CASTLE TOO👍 Got to say something too about the owl and hawk flying display, the best I’ve seen anywhere in the UK. The terrace walk too is excellent. Think a two night stay will do it For the castle, grounds and a trip on the ‘Ratty Railway’
eating places a bit limited in food choice. previous meals at the ratty arms seemed to have been wider in choice, but the folk there were very kind and helpful. the fells are wonderful as always. the weather was normal!! we enjoyed getting back to seascale - our family have been there for holidays for more than 100 years.
It is a small town, but it does have a couple of inns and pubs to eat at. The rivermouth (Or should that be plural) is a beautiful place to stay at and the surrounding areas of Ravenglass are breathtaking so as a center to travel from it is an excellent place. Much to recommend to it.
It isn't as well known as other parts of the lake district but is a stunning location.the castle is a fantastic building loaded with history. There is a brilliant birds of pray display, owls at night display later in the day and feeding of a flock of herons every day at 1600 pm . A great maze for the kids to go through educational and fun ,beautiful walks through the grounds with breathtaking sceenery a great place for a relaxing holiday try it you will love it.

The owners Ian and Sarah were amazing, and the location can not be beaten.
