Amazing historical premises, well kept and beautifully furnished. The staff was friendly. The spa facilities were nice and clean. Our dinner in the Brasserie 1593 was exceptional. We loved the menu options and execution of the meals - very impressive. We ordered a partridge starter, halibut main and pork belly main dish and finished with an amazing apple themed dessert. Also, the bar was spectacular and took you back in time.

Travel Plaza is located between Market Harborough and Kettering, just outside Desborough on the B576/ old A6 Road overlooking the rolling countryside of the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. This is a lovely little independent hotel with an old fashioned charm. Very friendly and helpful staff. We stopped off here on the way back from a driving holiday in Scotland. It was a last minute booking and it was a welcome respite! There is 24 hour snacks and drinks available including some alcoholic beverages, which is nice if you want to relax in your room with a glass of wine! There was free wifi, a fridge in the room and a sofa. Lovely gardens surround the hotel. Check out is 11am which is really nice not having to rush in the morning.

Located in Kettering in the Northamptonshire region, Kettering Leisure Holiday Home features a garden. Very good property with all facilities and a group of shops nearby
I didn't have the chance to visit Rothwell as the hotel chain, OYO, cancelled my booking leaving me stranded without any accommodation - there was no alternative local accommodation available as it was Silverstone weekend and all the other places were full.
Rothwell is a small town, with a few shops, bars and restaurants. We enjoyed lunch at The Old Bank, where the food was exceptional, very tasty. There is one main car park which serves the town, if you’re attending an event, go early the car park gets busy, particularly on a Saturday night.
Rothwell is a great central base if wanting to explore this part of Northamptonshire. Plenty of history and tranquil charm if you want to escape into the local countryside. The centre of Rothwell has excellent facilities. Plenty of well priced accommodation, including Rothwell House, The Red Lion and The Blue Bell. Easy to get to with very handy A14 connection.
Small town. Good choice of food places if you're there for the evening, including small supermarkets and the usual take-aways and restaurant offerings. Parking is good. Bus route. Messy with litter which is always sad to see - some careless lazy people around.
The hotel was in a very good central position. It is a lovely old building. The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I accept that it is a very old building but the standard of our room could have been better. The best feature was the four poster bed.
Don’t stay at the Rothwell House Hotel! Rothwell itself is an historic little town with some nice buildings. We spotted several places to eat and chose the Red Lion pub. Staff were friendly and the service was good. I can thoroughly recommend the pate starter.
Rothwell
The room we had booked wasn’t booked properly with the hotel so was given an alternative. The room didn’t have an en-suite and was extremely small but we had our own bathroom down the corridor. Very clean and tidy
Breakfast was very good, very friendly staff. Excellent location for town of Rothwell, we attended a wedding at the Trinity church, which was a short walk away.
