Frustrating having to find our way around the town, sign posts were either non existent or difficult to find. The island is not suitable to bring a car along as there are already too many cars on the road and parking is not easy in a busy town. The bus station, which we also found hard to find, is great but not enough buses running during the busy holiday period. Lots of sites to visit within easy walking distance of the harbour. The Georgian House, Maritime Museum and Elizabeth Castle were all fabulous places to visit. We enjoyed our ride on Le Petit Train to St Aubin's Bay and back. We found fabulous cafes - our favourite was Cafe Paraiso. Our favourite restaurant was The Rigatoni. The bus service to visit different parts of the island was absolutely excellent. As we did not hire a car we had to rely on buses.
As we did not hire a car we had to rely on buses. We bought a weeks pass this saved a lot of money. The bus service is very good and easy to negotiate. St Helier is a beautiful town. The streets are kept clean, I saw no rubbish anywhere. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants. If you like shopping there is a plentiful supply to choose from.Guest review byPatricia - 8.0

St Helier is very changed over the last few decades with the presence of the many finance buildings but some of its old stores and markets are still there and pubs and restaurants have survived which is lovely to see. There were a number of bars and great restaurants nearby, however, the hotel breakfast was very good and we had dinner one evening. The meal was nice, I had the vegetarian option and my partner the fish and chips both were enjoyable. The staff are all lovely in particular Figaro in the bar and restaurant. Food is wholesome and packed with lots of flavour. Breakfast is varied and sets you up for the day. All staff are really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and refreshed everyday with new towels and cleaned. I was apprehensive after reading a few previous reviews, however we have found everything to be of our liking.
